The latest issue of Muscle Car Review has an article about the "Robinson L-M" A/FX Comet. It mentioned that Randy Delisio restored it AND 6 other A/FX Comets. I know he did the McCoy Comet and the George Weiler-Tom Masano Comet. What others did he restore? Thanks. Syl

Hows your Comet coming along? Did you pick a show you were going to debut it at?

In regards to Randys Restorations. I dont know but I wonder if he did the 64 Marauders Comet, Countdown 3, Maybe Haydens 65, maybe the walkers moters Comet.

He definitely has had his Hands in some cool stuff.

  6. Hey Syl!
The Comet is looking terrific! There isnt a day that goes by that i dont regret selling that car. I worked 9 long years and countless amout of money and searching for parts for that thing. I knew it was going to a good home and you have done a excellent job redoing it again. When i was gonna start on the car again before i sold it to you i was gonna change the interior over to red like you did. I finally was able to see the pictures last night and i was showing them to my wife and she even said to me that she could tell it was bothering me to see the pictures cause i missed the car. I still have the pictures i have left of it hanging up in the garage and the one that Don Nicholson signed for me. So i see the car every time im in the garage. But priorities happen and me selling the car gave us our down payment for our first house. All i have to play with now are my 53's but someday i will own another 64 comet. Keep up the awesome work.

Mercuryjunky; I'm planning to take both the Comet and the T-Bolt to Winterport June 18 to the Gasser Days event--won't make any runs --just go and enjoy the day. The Comet is mostly done-few bugs to iron out--leaking radiator, missing roof drip rail trim, etc. but a FUN project. Syl

Look at that it works, Thanks for the direction Claymore. The motor is a 347, flat top pistons 10.8 comp, 608/614 hydraulic roller, AFR 185 heads and a victor 302. This converter is a 9" 4500, 4:11 gear. This is the 4th time out with the new motor went 11.17, 120. Seems to be working very well. Having fun.

Road trip next year, Ken. I've already started to fill the coffee can with dollar bills!! If Roy lets me draft him we can bump-draft our way out!!!

  24. Took this picture a couple of months ago & finally downloaded it. This is my Caliente I bought new in Rochester Michigan and put it away in 1972.

I'll eventually get to it but there a few FE projects first. 1948 Lincoln Continental. 1931 A Roadster & a 1960 Vette basket case that's getting a FE. The Comets been sitting in dry storage both in Michigan & now here in Oregon. I'm calling this picture "Bedtime".
Thats the Pacific Ocean in the background.

Ken -This is the one you saw in Colorado.

Dale;you need to change your avatar!!! Movin/on;your 65 looks like it is a clean car, what else can you tell us about it. Claymore;would love to have a FE in my 65 but just keeping the screaming small block alive is getting too pricey!!!! ROY

  26. Roy: not much to say. 289 2V C-4 (5 bolt pattern), cloth interior and PS. Otherwise a stocker. I rebuilt the rear springs & put in some heavier duty front coils in the early 1970's. & had some headers built by a shop in Michigan. it's got 57,000 miles.

movin/on;your 65 sounds like it is equiped like so many 65s were originally. What are your plans for it after you finish the other projects? ROY.

  28. Roy: Plans are FE with a C-6 and a dropped I beam axle using parallel leaf springs. The major issue will be how to strengthen the frame without alot of unibody cutting. Someplace around my shop I've got a set of frame connectors.
