Listening to some tunes while driving my "daily" driver the other day (decent music is becoming a rarity to me lately, my car doesn't have a radio, and my truck is rockin the AM radio that only gets talk shows) I popped in a Brian Setzer Orchestra cd, and on comes "Switchblade" For those of you that are not familiar with the tune it is about a "drop top deuce" with a mean 327. The song is so descriptive I feel that I really could build me that exact car. Which got me to thinkin..... Has anyone here found inspiration to build a car just because of a song? "Galaxy 500" also an awesome song, totally different type of inspiration though
Mostly I like to think of HAMBers as the guys (and gals) whose cars inspire songwriters to CREATE a song about our car(s). Most of us don't wait for someone in a studio to get us going...although 'Little Deuce Coupe' did get a lot of consideration back in the day.... dj
Nope never heard a song about an olds powered Studebaker. Actually there is a Dillon song about a moon shiner. I would think it would be pretty rare that any of you have heard it. Anyway it doesn't talk about a car at all but it did inspire me to build up an old shine runners car that I captured for the wife.
Proof that just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should. I saw pics of that car and it was just wrong on so many levels.
If you're talking about the Psychobilly one, they didn't build anything, they just stuck parts off different cars on top of a good one... which just illustrates their good sense I suppose
