OK Fam4willys, give us some more info on this one. Where and about when was this shot taken?
I could be incorrect, but this is one of the very first T'Bolts experimented with.

  3. Well, neither one of these are even close to being a Thunderbolt... The first one is a 1965 Mercury Comet....The second one is a 1966 or 1967 Chevrolet Chevy II!!!

Lets try to keep this thread 1964 Ford 427 Fairlane "Thunderbolt" related, please....

  4. My guess is it's Kingdon Dragway according to the photo address. Les Ritchey and Gas Ronda, vintage burgandy with the cloverleaf hood on Ritchey's!!!

aahhh....... I see it now Troublemaker.
I don't get any photo description opening in another frame as a larger pic.
Wasn't that cloverleaf hooded car one of the very first?
I am unable to find it back in this thread right now, but I know I've seen it either here or somewhere.

This is off topic a little bit but I figured the learned folks here could help me.

I recently found an old Hot Rod Mag., Oct. 1967, that had an article about the '67 AHRA nationals at New York National Speedway. I am looking for any information about the funny car field. There was a notation about the Stripteaser beating the Ramchargers in the second round. I would like further info on the races or any photos available. I am a contributor on the Double H Drag Strip forum. The Double H was the Stripteaser's home track. Before I get any feedback, I know the Ramchargers had transmission troubles but would like to know how the Stripteaser did in later rounds. This would have been the Fliptop Comet that later became the "Holeshot", I'm not sure if it was still owned by Bob Thomas and driven by Howard Neal at this time or if it had already been sold to Jerry Caminito and not re-lettered yet.

  7. One of my favorite T-bolts! Super clean and very fast! Dobbs Ferry... complete with single exhaust and wipers.....:)

I wish I could make my fingers behave, no matter how many times you put it in search you can't get here with "thunderBLOTS".

Everyone keep up the good work, there is a wealth of information on here.

Only two, the '63 car had two different lettering schemes and early on it didn't have the bulge in the hood.

This question may have been answered before. How many cars originally got the cloverleaf hoods?

well, the car in the black and white pic has base (cheapie chrome strip) Fairlane trim while the car in the lower pic has the more expensive Fairlane 500 trim (two chrome strips with a painted center). It could be the same car but I thought all '64 T-bolts were '500' trimmed cars.
