I recently found this photo in with a collection of photos that I picked up for The Old Motor. Neat photo of Jack Flemming In his Pope-Hartford which looks to be brand new or reconditioned. The photo is clear enough to read Michelin on the tires.

I wonder how many 50 horse Popes had that body. Dave Buck was killed in a similar bodied car.

Yeap, seems that's all we have on this car that has a rather interesting history connected to the "Charlatans" Peugeot people. Thanks all the same Model A Keith.

Can you share everything you know about the company. I have searched and found quite a lot but most of the text is Latin and i find it very difficult to understand after translating.

The 1878 Green Bay to Madison steam buggy contest has been discussed here before and understandably it ruffled a few feathers of some members. A few weeks ago our good friend David, head honcho at The Old Motor, posted a short story about this historical event that took place in Wisconsin as well as an accompanying photo of one of the machines, the Oshkosh. He also provided a link to a 1921 article published in the Capital Times newspaper that i find highly interesting and recommend everyone to read.

Did anyone in New England catch sight of the Great Race this week? If so, take a look at the steering gears in the replica of the Marmon Wasp Indy car that Coker built. IS it authentic? Looked pretty simple. I didn't have a camera when I saw them at the AACA museum on Tuesday.
