Yeah! Chuck'll whip a Total Gym out of his pocket like a switchblade and put a shame on ya!

  4. the real question is, 'when is it enough?' I mean is there a way to stop once you get this deep in? do we, the HAMB, need to have an intervention?

In all honesty, I don't think I've gone too far. In all honesty, what I've tried to do is create a piece of art using chrome to complement the pearl pink and white striping. Chrome is a complmentary color to almost any shade. I didn't do the oil pan. I likely won't do the carbs or the fuel pump. And there won't be any chrome in the engine bay save for the regulator cover and maybe a coil cover.

I used as a guide a certain shoebox chevy that has too much chrome. That ends up taking away from the beauty. So yes, just like a drug overdose, there IS such a thing as too much chrome.

Now if I could only find a Rotofaze or Magspark.......My entire engine bay would be good to go.

When chrome started getting expensive, I got a taste for stainless steel and polished aluminum. Now I can't stop polishing, polishing, polishing.

Anybody got any green rouge and some flapper wheels?

  9. Your engine looks AMAZING! I just can't stand to close, I don't want to catch your disease. But, it is probably inevitable. Now we just have to get it in your truck!

Addicts make me SICK.. I mean I like chrome, but I just do it for fun I could quit anytime I want...
Where did you say you scored your chrome again?

  11. wasn't sayin that you had gone too far. as you know from my earlier pm that I dig the amount of chrome goin into your engine. it was meant more as a joke going along with the chorme-aholic tone of most of the thread. I, for one, can't wait to see this thing of beauty in it's place surrounded by the rest of the truck. and fwiw the pink, white, and chrome combo is a nice change from most.

I see what's going on here... The iron lords are telling us about all the great things that chrome is doing for them and just how cheap they are getting it. Now we are all thinking about a little chrome in our own lives. And just where will we go to get that fix??? We are playing right into their hands. I am on to you Terd!

Bunch of shine (street name for chrome) pushing hoodlums...

    Thanks Josh!

I know, we're on the same page. But I have been accused of too much chrome by others. My buddy Del made fun of me because before I scored this engine we were going to build my 261 into a stomper and I had a chance to buy a chrome 3 speeed trans for it. He thought it the dumbest idea ever. I felt it was the greatest thing in the history of mankind, haha! :D If I hadn't found this cad engine, this would be under my pickup right now.

Terd this is absolutely not true! what I said was buy some sheet metal or rebuild your engine first...

I am all for chrome but $500 beans on a trans that you cant see when there are other things that are visable that need to be addressed is rediculious.

now do a frame of on your truck, hell yes put a chrome trans in it!

So now I've moved on in my addiction. I'm afraid to admit that I am now straight freebasing chrome fresh out of the tanks still wrapped in copper wire.

The pic is, in a sad way, like a junkie's windchimes. I need help. I'm sure its only going to get worse.
