I am probably as anxious as you are, but get that thing driving already for crying out loud! I check this thing every day watching you inch closer and closer. What are you going to tackle next?

Well 1959apache, the coming week I won't have too much time to work on the car. Next on the list is to close the area around the c-notch while I'm (still) waiting for some parts from the Plymouth Doctor. Also on the list are welding the rear fenders to the body, sort out the cowl , install bear claws, deck lid, doors, etc........there is still a lot left to do but I'm not going to rush, nor have a date for completion. It will be finished when it's finished.:)

Thank you Niklas! I'll see if I can organize to be in Oslo on the 9th of July. Btw, good luck with the tail lights for your 52 Buick. Decisions, decisions.......

I'm not planning on suicide doors, just a good solid locking mechanism. I'm also planning new locks for the hood and deck lid. Post some pics when you have the mock block in the chassis. Here's a pic of the Bear Claws I picked up a few weeks ago.

OK, I was getting scared. I have the Bear Claws, and I am going suicide. LOL I just got the mock block last night, and will open it shortly to see the fake 392 Hemi.

Have a great Father's Day, doing what you want to do for most of the day!:D

I seem to have nightmares about suicide doors opening at high speeds. So normal doors for me.

As for Father's day, I'll be working above Europe at flight level 350........

It was back to the shop again today. Finally! This time I fabricated the driver's side panel on the c-notch cover. Not very exciting, I know, but it had to be done....Welded it in place and ground it down. Also cleaned up some welds in the trunk. Things are going at a steady pace (but never fast enough). Going back to the shop on monday to continue.:)

I hear ya. I just text my fabricator to see how he is feeling. I started looking at my front end sheet metal, and the work that I need to do. I need to blast some parts. My fabricator said that he is feeling better, and that he will be assembling the rear end this weekend...Yippie:D:D:D.

I positioned my car back in its spot after I'd finished next to a partly dismanteld gt40. Thought it was a cool photo opportunity.

Was hoping to get a lot done today, but unfortunately that many things prevented me from working on the car. Hopefully I can find some time this week in order to "keep the ball rolling".

After waiting for quite a few weeks, I finally received my parts from the Plymouth Doctor. I ordered both inner and outer rocker panels, and the lower cowl repair patches. From what I can see, it looks good, but of course won't know for certain with regards to fitment until I weld them into place.

Usually I make all of my own parts, but this falls into the catagory of time/money management. Once I've welded these parts into place, the car will be rust free!

Considering I had the afternoon to work on the chassis, I thought I would try and figure out the best location for the sensors of the air ride system. After spending quite a while trying different positions, I decided to mount them on the c-notch. Here I will get decent travel, therefore I should be able to regulate it optimally. The mounting point for the bottom pivot point is going to be the bracket of the parallel bars of the triangulated system.

First I marked the position on the c-notch, drilled the holes and threaded it. Next was drilling a hole in each of the lower brackets, which meant having to take the wheels off for better access. Then had to bend the arm of the sensor slightly due to the angled c-notch. Then "s" shaped the connecting rod. Tested the system by jacking the chassis up and down and all worked out fine. I love it when a plan comes together!:D

Somedays everything comes together perfectly. Today wasn't one of those......I must have spent an hour or two just trying to figure out the best postion for the airride sensor. Clamping it in place, raise and lower the chassis making sure everything clears.....again and again. Finally found a nice hidden spot inside the cross member.

Next challenge was finding a mounting point for the arm. Thought of drilling through the lower suspension arm but opted against this. Finally thought of using the lower bolt holding the airbag in place. This meant increasing the radius of the rubber mount. Cut some copper and fitted it in there.

I still need to fine tune the set up, but at least it's in place.........after 6 hours.......

Thanks Glenn. Sometimes I feel like I can do it blindfolded! You have a good weekend too.
