The tail light lens are becoming clear, on my driver. So wondering which replacement light might look good on there .. The lights mount off the side of the box, so should be a contained unit . Wondering if there is a light that could be mounted from another car, or truck, that might give it a custom look ?
If you have any ideas or seen someone else do it,, could you attach a pic ..

I cut down some 60-61 Chevy passenger car lenses to fit the '58 bezels, if you want more details shoot me a PM...

Swapping the lenses is pretty straightforward. As I said, the OD on the lens needs to be reduced so it will fit. After marking the new lens I chucked a burr in the drill press and freehanded it. The retaining screw tabs on the bezel also need to be removed. A cutoff wheel seemed to work better than a snips due to the contour of the bezel. A bead of calk and a small screw through the bezel at the bottom holds everything in place.

I prefer restored originals but a couple of other options are '39 Ford teardrops in the fenders or early '30's Chevy car tailights (pic below). '37 Chevy attached to the stake pocket would work too. NO LED's pleeeeez!!

  16. Here's mine. They are turn signals off a Harley. I just replaced the orange lenses with red ones. Lenses cost me $8. The lights were free! Can't beat that.[IMG][IMG][IMG]
