What famous car made the biggest impression on you?

Let us know the famous custom, gasser, hot rod, ect. that made the biggest impression on you. i'll start with Stone,Woods, and Cook Swindler 2 Willys.

 

The James Dean merc.I have wanted a sled ever since.I now have my dream ride in progress some 25 years later.

Reading my dads old mags, I liked anything Valley Customs did and can remember going to the KKOA events. So many beautiful cars ruined with mono paint or pastels back than.

maybe not famous to you guys but sure was to me. My grandfathers 63 1/2 ford galaxie w/390. Man I loved that land boat!!

 

Milners "piss yellow" coupe without a doubt got me hooked....second would have to go to CADZILLA..and third would be the "blue max" funny car

 

'29 Ford roadster with a see thru plexiglass hood top. Owned by Ken Furhman. About 1952. I was about 14 yrs. old and remember him dirt racing at Stewarts Dairy in Napa, Calif. He wanted to sell me a '32 roadster body for $75. I didn't have $75.

 

There's a few family cars that made a big impression on me as well such as my grandpa's 56 ford custom and my uncles 41 willys

 

the Kopper Kart (spelling?), i got a barris book for my 8th birthday and i remember i became obsessed with that truck. then i was introduced to american graffitti.... every car in there was amazing. something about that mean black chevy with the arrogance of harrison fords character made me wish i was him.. and that impala too... ooh i loved that thing

 

if we had to go with NON famous movie cars or cars built by legends of the hot rod world, then my dad's 58 ford.... i was 5, went crusing in it with him every day. got dropped off in front of my kindegarden class. man. the day he sold it i cried.. luckily i got my own 58 now

 

that impala was pretty wicked too with that big rake on it and the white and red paint...probably my second or third favorite car in that movie!

 

Congrats on getting your own...those cars that you grew up in have sentimental value after a while.

 

Bullitt mustang...I loved Mustangs as a kid.

I was at a local show today and saw this car, based on the scrape car...

 

With influence like that...how in the world did you end up with a name of 1975CamaroLT? From the era of anemic Camaros?

 

I fell in love with these before I began to walk...

 

my mom had a 1976 camaro as her high school car and i wanted one like it because my grandpa painted it black and pinstriped it...it was COOL. so we ran across a one owner one with 56,000 miles and snatched it up for a good price, not a hot rod but it'll be something cool.

 

Project X did it for me. Long before GM got a hold of it and F'd it up.

 

Kopper Kart and Hirohata merc for the custom in me, Milner coupe for my hotrod side. I think I'm more of a custom guy... Not by much though!

 

My earliest memory of a "name" hot rod is probably the Vic Edelbrock roadster in a c. 1992 Rod & Custom Deuce retrospective that my dad bought me. Up to that point I pretty much only liked stockers, but that issue made me realize that there was hot rodding before street rods and fired up an interest in traditional hot rods that endures to this day.

I've always love 40-41 Willys....no matter if it is glass or steel, Pro street, a gasser, or stocker...love them all!

 

This is the one that did it for me. Well, the original did. Although I love the clone in the picture as well. I first seen this Nomad on a model kit my Dad had when I was a kid.
