  2. It would have to be Ed's Mysterian and the Corvette from "Hot Rods To Hell" with the teenage run amuck attitudes.

Chrismans' Comets did it for me. As a young kid I couldn't understand how they could stand inside the engine compartment and work on the car. Didn't understand engine set back ect. That car caused me to start buying hot rod mags to learn more.

"Famous" to us I guess..before I was able to get a car together to take to the drags we were going as spectators, about 1965 Double Eagle Drag Raceway San Antonio..August "Hands" 56 Chevy sedan delivery, painted white with a black Schneider Cams cross on the door, lifting the front wheels a bit, flames licking the asphalt from fender-well headers. There was simply nothing cooler in the world at that point...

Me too. I saw it on the cover of Hot Rod in the summer of '58 at the newly opened Wyoming Public Library. This was the first big car mag I'd ever seen, and Ala Kart just knocked me over - it was so radical. Over the years I became interested in '60's Mopars, and it took Ala Kart again to wake me up. 50 years later in the summer of 2008, there it was at Borders on the cover of TRJ. I had the same reaction - it stopped me in my tracks.

Tommy Ivo four engine nailhead rail, Mickey Thompsons twin engine Toronado drag monster, Tony Nancys cars, Art Arfons Green Monster, Bean Bandits drag cars, Sam Barris Merc, Kopper Kart which was at Barris shop when I visited there, Larry Watsons rides especially The Grapevine. A lot of drag racing heros I know, but they were so great. ~sololobo~

Milner's coupe and all the great cars featured in American Graffitti! Before that there was teenager in our small country village that had a '40 Ford 2 dr sedan baby blue with baby moons, Hooked on 40's forever! But love all street rods!
