Will have to agree. Atleast they have rocker panels.....!!:) Some people did some very bad things to my 'Box in the 80's. Great work being done here....nice example.

  15. Thanks mate it's from your neck of the woods. Pilot point Texas. Thanks buddy. Yeah it's looking cool. I'm lovin it. DES

  16. Yeah bare metal looks rad. Thanks man.

  17. My hubcaps are here today awesom and my headers clutch and 97 rebuild kits are on there way. I'll be busy after the states smashing this car back together

  18. been at it a little. but i have other shit goin on with finalising my trip and stuff but still goin strong on the car till we leave,
got all the front end apart and wire brushed, scrapped and cleaned all the chassis and stuff, put a few coats of chassis black on it, and stripped more of the engine bay, probably going to set up front air bags with drop spindles when i get back, will be so much better being able to jack it uo and get in and out of my driveway with ease.
also me and ahron had a set back last night working on the other qaurter window, we made it all uo the other night it looks great, needed a bit more shape in it, so i took it back into ahrons work last night to shrink it round a little more, but we ended up killing it, ahron got frustrated with it and so did i, just one of those nights where nothing wanted to work for us, so that went in the bin, we did this one the "old school" way today and it came out fucking neat as, and the perfect shape it was easier, looked nicer, was quicker, shoulda just done the other one this way but who woulda know,
after a quick lesson from brother jeffree, i made some measurments on a peice of sheet metal, scribed a few lines, and a few marks, then ahron made a few marks and cut it out, we made it the perfect shape we wanted it to be off our window template, then started all our folds, bassically we used that achine and ran it through that a few times and ahron gave it a few hits on the table with a couple hammers, done, thats it, really neat and easy, oh well live and learn, pretty damn nice i think.
we will test fit it and weld it into the roof and gutter panel like we did the other then the progress will start to show.

  20. Hi Derek, I've just found this thread and read it right thru............I noticed you said a few pages back that there were lots of lurkers and not many posters, and I thought, well, there's only so many ways to say 'fuckin awesome' :D Your energy and never say die attitude has rendered most of us speachless, and your mates will be the envy of many too, I reckon.

Excellent thread mate, enjoy the states but hurry up and get back......we wanna see how much cool shit you crammed into your carry on luggage.:D

All the best from the East Island, that car is gonna be the bomb!......cheers Jerry.

  21. Ha ha ha thanks brother. That's cool. Yeah I think it'll be more like get home and go nuts buying verything I need for the car. I'll probably have my bag bursting at the seems with all sorts of hotrod t-shirts and shit. But deffinately gunna try get drop spindles and shit in there. Maybe even some front aairbags ha ha.
    Cheers mate

  22. hey a quick little update for anyone still playing at home, the weeks coming to an end quickly and im off on sunday so if i dont put anything up before i go i will be doin nothing on the car for the next month but when i get back youll see some cool shit happenin
anyway, finished wire brushing and cleanin up the front end, chassis black and reassemble cause chicken is staying at mine while im away and is bringin his 53 olds he just imported round to my house to get some work done on while im away, i will leave the front this way as i have big plans on doin some cool stuff with the front bags to get it really low, but that is later, and if i dont loose all my money in vegas.
also as u can see i got my hubcaps, wasnt 100% sold on them when they turmed up but one i paint stripped, panel beated a little and polished one i think they look kinda cool, a little different anyway, would love to here what some people think of them, i like the idea of havin a few different cap options anyway, remembering the rims will be gloss black with big ass firestone rags when i get back.

Some solid progress there Des! You'll be cruising in no time....

I like the version of the caps without the centre painted black. The whole cap polished, rapped inside a 6.50 Firestone Whitewall = Sano !!

    Enjoy your trip mate.
