Old! I think he looks good for a guy who was traveling all over this country back in the sixties! I used to have a 45 record of him desribing a pass in the Hot Wheels flopper-I think that it was a dub-over, but all of us kids thought that it was recorded right there in a nitro burning FUNNY CAR in real time,LOL!

Ask him if that recording is still out there to be downloaded or something! I would love to have that again to play at club meetings and such!

I think you are confused about "push" technology. Facebook is no more "push" than the HAMB.

Yes, but how else can your bosses wife force you to read about what she ate for lunch?

  16. Tom is what a real racer is all about. I was a big fan of him as any kid in the early 70's. As a teenager i did alot of street racing and then switched to the track. I did fairly well so i decided to step it up to a funny car. I was working on the motor plates & trans coupler and had some questions so i went to Gainner's shop to see how others have done theres and that is when i meet Tom. He was more than willing to give me some very valuable advice on fc desgine and setup plus some real kool racing stories.

I was fortunate enough to interview Tom McEwen for WFMU radio right after he won Top Fuel at Etown in 1991 at the NHRA Summernats/Supernats... That's right, I said, "Top Fuel"... That was the only time in his long career that he took a NHRA Top Fuel national win (you usually think of Tom seated in the cockpit of a Funny Car)... He's a very humble and sweet guy... There's no denying that Tom "Mongoose" McEwen's history in the sport of drag racing is a most colorful one...
