I'm gearing up to put the two of these together and I figure it'll be a pretty straight forward procedure, but like many others, I love seeing what others have done before.

I guess the x-members are the same 1935-1940, mine is out of a 1940 pickup, and well, a 1932 frame is a 1932 frame.

I did search, but the terms are so broad, you'd think every single post on the HAMB contained either "1932 frame" or "1940 member". :D

I only had the center piece that was torched out of a streetrodded 35. It was about 2 or 2-1/2 feet long, so I made my own legs to hook to the 32 frame.

I also turned it backwards to use the wishbone ball mount for my 35/36 rear arms that I made into a wishbone by using a 32 front ball and yoke

I will try to find a pic, but I doubt it would help with what you are doing.

Here is what I did on my roadster frame. Most of the modification was at the rear kick up. I am still waiting on the motor and transmission to get final fit up. Was pretty clear cut.

That is precisely what I'm using! :) 1935/36 rear bones, 1941 front spring, and front wishbone ball and yoke, probably from a set of 1941 front bones! I'll probably incorporate a torque arm made from another cast off wishbone, like what NealinCA did on his '32 frame!

Thanks for the pictures! I figured the most of the mods would be where the frame turns up at the rear.

What drivetrain is going into yours?

Anyone use a stock pedal ***embly? I'm thinking it might be able to be made to work, I just don't know if the placement of the pedals would be realistic in a hot rod.

Here is my backwards center X with 35/36 bone.

I had to "dish out" the top plate on the center of the X to make room for open drive; Early Olds with 37 Buick top shift trans. I bent up a U shaped plate that I welded in.

Further extremes, i had most ofa '46 X & most of a model A frame. I used the X piece in backwards, had a '39 pedal set but didn't figure the location couldbe right so I used the '49 F1 setup, had to modify the pedal arms and fab a mini crossmember. Down for motor swap so body is back off later pics.

Thanks for the great pics and links guys!! :)

F&J, I bet my setup will end up looking a lot like yours.

That B*** Coupe build is something else! He was able to use an original 1940 pedal ***embly which I was hoping to utilize! :D

I think they're rear 35/36 bones welded to a Model A wishbone ball end. :)

Going to run a 215 aluminum Buick V8 in the roadster. I used Lincoln front radius rods for rear radius rods, and then lengthend them with heavy wall tube. I will use 1940 3/4 ton truck tie rod ends to connect them to the frame, but only splitting them about 6 inches.

    Here is the build thread:

Oops! Correction - that photo is of the stock '40 rear radius rod. I don't have a photo of the ones I extended on my deck top, but I will try to get one posted in the next few days.
