If you want truly fantastic food....yeah probably not going to find it here! There are a couple of local traditions that are enjoyable, I'll put together a list of decent joints in town and post it later tonight.

    noooo doubt!
No, Rangers is long gone now :( There is a steak joint called Tucsons now on the south end of town that can flame up some cow pretty decently, but I liked Rangers better myself.

Cozy Inn, Salina. 1920's 6 stool diner, burgers only, chips and soda pop. Onions manditory. 108 N 7th street, about 6 blocks west of the show, just off Iron Ave.

Scheme Restuarant & Bar. (Across the street from Cozy). Best Pizza in town hands down. Great sandwiches too. Excellent Iced Tea. And very cold air conditioning. (It's where I am going for lunch Friday haha). No credit cards.

    Bogey's 1417 S. 9th. Really good burgers and a gazzilion ice cream/milkshake flavors! A local favorite.

Jim's Country Style Chicken. 649 S. Broadway. Locally owned and operated.

Hickory Hut Bar-b-que. really good bbq. 1617 W Crawford. (Friday dinner after the drags for me.)

Spangle's. Really good fast food, with a great theme. 2 locations in town. Closest to the park is 1720 W Crawford.

Bayard's Cafe. Good breakfast. Close to host hotel at 2301 N 9th.

Short drive to Abilene KS, take Old US 40:

Brookville Hotel. Best fried chicken and family style dinner anywhere. Call ahead for reservations, yes, it's that good, just ask Reggie.

Kuntz's Drive-In. Old A&W from the 50s. Recently bought by a young couple keeping the grill flame going. Saturday night staple. Best double cheeseburgers around, and homemade rootbeer served in a frosty mug. (Alter Boys star of approval).

That is so true; we ate at some Coyote place last year. I guess it is a chain that has
good buffet but nothing to brag about. The show is so kool I just over looked finding a
    good place to eat.

Thanks No-Surf this will be a big help....

I sent Jerry an email last night requesting the lineup. My buddy Kevin at the Paramount Bar is interested in booking one of the bands for his bar. I believe that the Open House party at Calvin Customs on Santa Fe will have live music but that's all I have heard for the whole weekend so far.

Don't think so... Can't imagine them playing "Humm bop" or however it goes,
wearing a Hockey mask. LOL!! I'll call Jerry and find out.

    Happy Trails, Mick

HAMB meet & greets certainly aren't everyone's cup of tea. If a person doesn't enjoy sticking their hand out and introducing themselves to new people then they wouldn't enjoy or have any need to attend. For those that do attend most find them alot of fun and more often then not a person walks away with a few more hot rod pals, or at least a few laughs.

    Hey Rick,

Roger is unfortunately right. I wish it were mine, but its only one I have always coveted in California.

It is not quite that green in real life. Here is a link to a much better image I did of it.

I'll be around! My office is a few blocks from the park, so I'll be there in the AM, then hopefully be able to get away and check the show in the afternoon. I think around 5pm or so a bunch of us will hit the water park like we did last year.:)

Also, as far as autoparts if anyone needs anything, I work in the building right next to Salina Auto Parts (223 N Santa Fe). A good bunch of guys work there.

There is a grocery store right next to the show at 511 E Iron Ave, Dillon's. It's actually pretty cool architecture, with a kick-ass neon sign.

If anyone needs any more info or anything, Travis and Povertyflats and I will do our best to help out.
