  2. Thanks fellas. Perhaps I shouldnt have just updated the old thread, but the color is set...and the Plymouth grille got nixed for a sectioned and peaked Olds grille...Here's a pic from last fall:

  9. is that root beer brown that i see on there i love that color

  10. The color is amazing. The shine is unreal, and I can't believe how straight the car is. I couldnt be happier! 2000 grit wet sanding and some buffing is the only thing left to do before assembly.

I just want to publicly thank Oldsmopile (Sam) for all the work he put into this pig for me. I owe you big time...

  11. Once it gets buffed and put together, I'll post another update.

  12. Man, I've been waiting YEARS to see that thang in color! You bringin it to Billetproof or is it cuttin it too close?

  13. I was going to say Sam Barris green but I love the colour you picked and the new headlights WOW. Congrads on a beautiful job.

  14. Wow! Really Wow!

Daaaaamn! I'm glad fate worked that way, Hudson! I just discovered your
thread and got to enjoy your years of careful progress in ONE sitting!
Way better than going to a movie theater. A real joy.

X-2 on what JamesD (Mister Good-Eye in my book!) and the others have

said.:D I can't say enough GOOD about it. I'M A LIFELONG FAN OF HUDSONS,
DEAD STOCK TO CUSTOM -- IF DONE RIGHT. YOU MAY HAVE CREATED
THE FINEST, MOST TASTEFUL HUDSON IN EXISTENCE.

You have taken your time and thought every detail through -- a mix of re-
straint and the adventurous. I APPRECIATE how you've agonized over the
right grille, instead of taking some easy course. However, those rear wheel
arches are a piece of work, too! From page one, I was hoping you'd choose
a deep, DEEP maroon, but what you did choose is SO right!;) Would two
people do it exactly the same? No. In fact, I'd have changed from the stock-
look Hudson tail lights,:p too. But it's what you've decided and executed that
has made THIS Hudson YOUR own creation:cool::cool:. CONGRATS!

Things happen for a reason, and I believe YOU were meant to do this car:D.
Mercs are great, but thanks to well-done projects like yours, Hudsons will
get their moment's due in the limelight! <!-- / message -->

Very nice choice of color.... glad to see it moving forward...

  21. Thanks for all the kind words guys! It has been a ton of work over the years. Very frustrating at times, and quite rewarding at others.

I can't wait to see the car put together, glass in, stainless polished, and the shiney new chrome installed...

Chris - I won't be at Billetproof this year.

Jimi - I was leaning toward a DEEP maroon, but the Titian Red just seemed so right. I sprayed the dash this color a year or so ago and knew it was the right one.

Yup, when you find it, you KNOW it, eh?!?

(PS, hope you didn't resent the tail light input. It's just that they looked so close to that for so many years in a row that, to me anyway, they epitomized "stock," if you see what I mean. Wish I'd have landed on this thread two years ago and offered my 2-cents when it would have been more timely. Sorry 'bout being so late in the game, 'cause it kind of COULD come off like a low blow.)

  23. No worries. I didn't resent your comment at all. The tail lights are one of the things I LOVE about the car, and are the only things on the stock exterior that remains unchanged.
