Looking to get into another mopar, found a sweet 66 Newport more door, running with a 383 motor, looks decent wanted to know how hard is it to lower them, I had a 66 Coronet before and lowered it by using blocks in the back and by turning the torsion bars upfront, is this car the same way ??

  3. Yep!

Helped a buddy of mine do his 66 Chrysler 300 2-door the same way and it looks *****in' !!! It'll change the front end alignment a little and might make the front tires wear a little funny, but not terribly. A good front end shop might be able to tweak it after you lower it to get it closer to "normal" alignment to help minimize tire wear, but again, it won't kill it.

Yes Sir, I belive that will do the job. My buddy has a 66 New Yorker and the P/O had it squated all the way and it was wicked low.

It is so easy. I love C bodies. I have a few, and they are all lowered. Gravity did the back of the fury and the wagon for me though.

Yup!! About the same. Blocks in the rear and tweak those torsion bars down in the front. Depending on the model, I have had to lower the lower front shock mounting so the shocks wouldn't bottom out. Usually just make and weld a couple tabs below the original mount. That's it! Butch

Yep blocks and twist those torsions that will do it. A buddy of mine just bagged his 64 newport convertable and it looks sick
