Love all the "non chevy" motors in these cars, blown Olds, dual quad Buicks, Arden head Fords and I have to include a Chevy motor that has Cl***, the 348/409. Like Porky pig sez "Thats all folks" Pat
I haven't gone to this show in years seemed quite Saturday. However I was drolling over FIVE-WINDO-GIRL 32 roadster. Ardun heads, blown flathead with a Culver city q.c..
Thanks Solidaxle!!! (I won't tell Ron you called the roadster my ride...it will be our little secret) Ha Ha... We always have a great time in Rhinebeck...
Five Window Girl I thought that was your car(or husbands) but didn't see anyone around it when I took the pictures, I wanted to introduce myself. Pat
The Roadster is my hubby's rod....You should have come back later...we walk around, then get tired and sit for an hour, then go get an ice cream, come back and sit, etc etc..... (I am posting this under Ron's profile)
Definitely my favorite of the whole show. Old school hotrod. It even had that old car smell. It doesn't get any more H.A.M.B. worthy then that.
That car was PERFECT! Was it in the Rodders Journal or Rod & Custom? How long did it take to plan and build that car?
This was probably the worst turnout this show has ever had. Im not sure if its Goodguys or the Dutchess County Fairgrounds but the fees are too high for this show. They man the gates and collect the money but once your inside they are pretty much done with you. Nothing much in the way of entertainment and lunch for the family will set you back 75 bucks. If not for a buddy tossing me some p***es id have stayed home too. I think this event is on its way out. Too bad. Im looking forward to the weekend of July 9th and 10th in Saugerties NY. Saturday July 9th is the traditional hotrod show on old kings highway right at the thruway mile marker 100. Its a really cool show. Bands, cheap food, great cars. Saturday in the village is the Sawyer motors show which is really cool too. Thats a whole weekend for less than the price of one day at Goodguys.
Here are a few from Goodguys at Rhinebeck. My son and I were there early Friday, So alot of cars had not arrived, but we had a blast. Why not. Hope you enjoy. (sorry for the never ending pop up tents and llbean chairs in the backgrounds of some shots.) Slim huge apologies for the mess behind this shot, the pop up tent and folks I can deal with but that WTF silver and green thing...if I see it again, I gonna toss a hand grenade under it. Anthony White 00Mack pin striped the dash. Nice car. I loved this one, but missed talking with the owner.
"I can deal with but that WTF silver and green thing...if I see it again, I gonna toss a hand grenade under it." Slim, Yes, I agree. It was orginally a Magnum....so should it have even been at the show?
As long as the GG get there money they will let this "artistic custom" **** in. The car and owner come from the Woodstock area and the guy makes some cool furniture and lawn sculptures but his cars don't belong at this type of show (pre 72 and thats a joke) How about the gold chainer 57 chevy wannabees driving around in those 2 57 chevy nightmare looking things, the more I saw them the sicker I got. I own a real 57 2dr. sedn. Pat
This place was like a ghost town on Sat you could have parked anywhere. I hope this does not go the same way a GG Pocono. Ran into a bunch of Hamber and ex hamers too. My number was 585 and did not see muc other numbers past 926 <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="if(typeof(jsCall)=='function'){jsCall();}else{setTimeout('jsCall()',500);}" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">
Put a knife in it, It's done! $40 bucks to bring your car in??? What is that? $18 bucks for spectators? Two years ago I was out of town and stopped on my way home at 2:30 Sunday to check it out and they wanted full gate price when most people had left. I will never go to this one again! I'm sure no one gives a **** if I go but that's my 2 cents or is 2 bucks?
I got there early Sat with my son. We were done by noon and looked at some areas twice. $36 to get in, $11 for lemonade, $6 for ice cream. I can't say it was worth it.
Congrats!! We got that in 2002 which was pretty neat because our roadster was on the shirts, dash plaques, and awards.
