I recently bought some wheels from Wheel Vintiques while I was at the Pleasanton Good Guys show on June 4. After reading all the negative comments about Wheel Vintiques on this forum I was expecting the worst. The reality was that it couldn't have gone better. I ordered four sixteen inch, eight lug, OEM style wheels in raw steel. Wheel Vintiques was running a "show special" which meant no sales tax and free shipping. The guy manning the booth said it would take 3 weeks. I ordered the wheels on June 4 and the wheels were delivered to my door on June 12. The wheels were exactly what I ordered and they fit perfectly. While I am quick to complain about bad service I also try to be quick to complement good service. I got excellent service from Wheel Vintiques.
been running a set of unpainted style 20 smoothies for 10 years with no issues. got them for under 30 bucks through summit, cleaned them painted them and run em no problems.
Chrome smoothies,on and off over four years, still come up like new when polished. Looking after them properly is the key. Paul
I don't know about negative comments... I'm sure there are some, but for the most part I've heard a lot of positive things about WV. They sponsor the Jalopy Journal and have for a very long time. From what I've experienced, they are really good folks.
Had a problem once with a Steelie that was out of round. They made it right so I would use them again no problem.
Ive had a set for a year now, no problems at all. Really couldnt be happier, got them quick and in good quality. I will probably be oredering another set for my next project.
try to get their hubcaps to fit their 64 series wheels, do a search...lot of of chatter out there. I like the wheels I have from them , do not like not being able to get their hubcaps on...
Great Alliance vendor, have had a couple of chrome wheels of theirs and they were terrific. I bought the wheels from Coker and when they arrived they were Wheel Vintiques. ~sololobo~
I bought some primered Wheel Vintiques 15" x 6" for my old '41 Plymouth before I sold it, and they worked out well. They looked great on the truck, once they were painted. I put some bullet caps and lug nuts on them, along with a set of new blackwalls, and the positive comments were non-stop! Very nice!
i bought 2 steelies with a custom backspace and black powder coating. the wheels came exactly as ordered and the finish is holdng up very well. i would order from them again.
I've seen a lot of people *****ing about WV after they mounted tires. I guess they didn't see the giant orange stickers on the wheels when they come out of the box that state - you paint it, you mount a tire, it is yours buddy! Nice to see someone posting positive feedback once in a while!
I have 2 sets of their wheels. 1 set are Chromies and 1 set are powder coated red wheels. Both sets came as per ordered with no problems. I would recommend them to anyone!!!
I am one of the guys that had a problem in the past. I bought two more to replace those two, and these are fine ....no problems at all. I am a happy customer.
To each his own I guess, but I spent about $2700 on Skylark wires that held NO air! I couldn't find anything to be happy about paying top dollar to a company that boasts quality control and get what I got without an apology or even a sense of surprise. Happy for those who got a good product, but that only gets to happen to me once. They were pretty much the worse business I've ever dealt with.
i run them on my deuce and on my nova no issues at all . actually 2 wheels on the nova didnt take any balance weights at all
I have a set of 5 chrome Wheel Vintique smoothies that I bought from Coker as a tire/wheel package. The tires (Firestone bias plies) were mounted and balanced by Coker and sent to me. I decided to change over to radials, which I also purchased from Coker. At the tire shop my friend had a major struggle trying to balance the tires because there was so much wobble in the wheels, not one of the five was even close to being true. The weights needed range from 4 to 7+ oz. I have to have weights on both sides to get a decent balance. In my experience their wheels are ****.
i have WV and they are great, the only problem i am aware of is that other vendors hub caps will not fit their wheels, but they do sell all the same caps. i have WV caps and they fit no problems. rich
I took a cutting wheel and made 4 cuts in the lip of the caps, to give them enough relief to go on and off without having to say words that would get my mouth washed out with soap. They hold nicely and haven't lost one yet.
I have a set of Olds SSI wheels for my Chevelle and I couldnt be happier with them. Were perfect and authentic, minus the fact that they are completely chromed instead of the painted original SS.
I've bought over 40 wheels from them with only one issue on a power coated wheel. Now thats pretty good in my book. Joe and Eric have always been extremly helpful and informative.
Just ordered a pair of wheels from them, or rather "Shopvintagewheels"!!??!1 WTF? They said they would get the order to them (Wheel Vintiques). Had trouble connecting to WV website...it now comes up under another business. After several phone calls, they - Shop vintage wheels, answered the phone as some other company, and I had to ask if it was the wheel company or not. Then they could not find my previous order form 2010, and that they (Shop vintage wheels) are handling WV orders. I am hoping to receive a pair of wheels someday!
sure you had the right address? http://www.wheelvintiques.com/ I'm very happy with the rims I purchased from them. Great Customer Service.
