Sounds like a learning experience. If you're not using it, your vehicle or ****** should be covered up for protection.

    SSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHH... (they are watching us)

    :) just kiddin'

Get an airhose, remove dust, move them, cover them, finish them, sell them, s**** them, but for the love of mike, quit typing about them.

  3. I just hope I doesn't rain.

I guess most of the whole scenario is lost in the translation to me. I don't know how the sand got in th shop, I don't understand how the project got buried. I'm really confused about the whole state lawmakers thing.

I do know that California has some pretty strict laws about smoking tobacco but its OK to blow a doobie so I guess it isn't all bad. I am a little confused about California State Lawmakers on the HAMB and how that has any impact on the guys family member putting a pile of sand in his two story garage.

I guess I am just confused as usual.

Oh I failed to mention tha some *** hat managed to pour coffee all over the front fender on my stude. Coffee is pretty acid as I have been told so I am not sure how much damage it will do.

It gets worse, Mrs. ****** took my hot plate and exresso pot away from me, now I have to come into the house for coffee.

Works like this;a crew was using a concrete cutting machine near parked cars.Despite being a wet saw, some of the **** got on the cars.Contractor had to pay for car wash and wax job.If the car was a rust bucket they gave the owner 25 bucks instead .
I was on a crew building a m***ive municipal garage. The steel beams were up and a painting crew was spraying the steel.Overspray got on our vehicles parked 200 feet away in the parking area.Painting contractor insurance paid for cleaning the oversray off the vehicles.
A contractor is responsible for any damage to property from the construction work unless the property owner contributed somehow.
Of course this doesn't mean you'll get a dime.............................

  5. So who has to pay for the coffee on my fender? I mean hell it was my expresso pot but the missus bought me the hot plate? Is there some way I can hamg this on the california lawmakers they are on the HAMB.

Mr. ******. Its obvious to even the most casual observer that you, Sir, are in possesion of a drinking problem. Stick to beer and there will be no problems. I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on tv. I do have my wife convinced I am the personal advisor to the "World's most interesting Man".
To the victim here who told an uninterested party to tarp his project,
NOBODY CARES MORE ABOUT YOUR STUFF THAN YOU DO.

Sounds like you're the culprit. You know your car, he knows construction. You had tarps available and knew work was being done and didn't cover it. 100% your fault. And whining about it on the HAMB? Lame.

have your husband go over and talk to the guy, i'm sure they can work out an agreement.

  9. Nobody has mentioned the fact that tarps do more damage to paint and primer than dust. If the wind doesn't scuff it to death they hold moisture in the morning dew.........................

Im with ya buzz nut. The guy probably had fun flinging dust everywhere. He probably used a loader and liffted the 4 n 1 bucket up as high as he could before moveing. Other people ****. Now go get a big fan and put it blowing across the pile into him and his stuff. spray some oil through the fan or some dog ****.

Maybe nobody knew how to use the tarps?

There are enough waded ******* to cover the entire car. Use them, sounds like there are enough

  12. I agree with covering your vehicle, but don't start trying to get everyone to cover up thier ******, I mean really!!!

Had an ex who seemed to always have sand in her junk. At least she acted like it anyway(hence ex).

Here's a concept for you. Buy a cheap car cover.
How about closing the doors on the shop?
    No doors, build some.
Walls letting in the dust? Tack poly up on the inside walls. Cheap. Effective. Next.

i have a half a dozen car covers in my shop that i use to cover cars that aren't being worked on at any given time. just the cheapy autozone covers, nothing fancy, but they keep the dust off just fine. simple, cheap and easy insurance. problem solved!

Dude... that's just wrong. Did he at least apologize or offer to compensate you for your added time to fix what he screwed up? I wonder if he thought the tarps were loaned to him to help him cover up his stuff and not meant to protect your stuff? I wish you the best and hope these parts survive through the paint job you wind up putting on them and that this dust doesn't come back to haunt you in the future. Man, I can only imagine...

Any updates? Whatcha gonna do now?

  21. Man that sounds like a sore deal to me.

Nothing like having a little fun at someone else's expense.

It is a shame about the truck and the sand. I would be more concerned abut drivetrain and working joints than sheet metal I'm afraid. That damned sand will get into everything. Just to smooth my nonsense over a bit I as well as the majority of us [I am sure] hope that all works out OK.

You saw a possible bad situation arising and you took no action to cover yourself. You have no gripe just a lesson learned. If he would of put the tarp on and condensation built up under it and was absorbed into your primer or the tarp stuck to this primer would you still be pissed because he made the attempt, the guy was in a no win situation.

Alright, the funny digs were fun. But ****** brings us back to reality. ******? Yes, ******. Well, hell, it's no damn fun to have to take two steps back when you'd taken THREE forward on a project! So, ****** and all of us know the feeling.

BuzzNut, I'm sorry if I seemed cavalier chuckling about the ****** reference. But I try to protect my PROGRESS by throwing a BREATHABLE tarp over it at night, or, until I can get back to it again. That way, humidity (night dampness, day sprinkles) will evaporate.

******'s right, though. BLOWING SAND will pit gl***, and it can get into the mechanicals -- which ****s in all respects. Cover it up.

Could have covered it with a tarp perhaps?:D

    {******'s right, though. BLOWING SAND will pit gl***, and it can get into the mechanicals -- which ****s in all respects. Cover it up.}

Blowing dust WILL NOT pit gl***, for f...s sake.

Go cover the "other thing" with a BREATHABLE tarp and that fixes that problem

BuzzNut, I am sorry about your car, but it is DUST mate, nobody died. Now lighten up, cause there has been some funny replies here.
    Cheers
    Rod

  27. All I know is if she needs a tarp to cover her ****** to keep the sand out, I think I'm moving on to the next girl. Although I suppose in that case you could park your project in there and that would keep the dirt off it.

  28. But he didn't say dust he said sand and dirt. Just to clarify.

Its the pits, the bottom of the list . . . But I am sure that buzznut is already back on track with his project and has already begun scheming on how to get even.

OK, just blow the sand out of it.......might work on the project too.

  30. Yea if it was mine I would probably just blow it off and take a stab at it.
