Vintage shots from days gone by!

  1. Lets keep this thread old photos, not new photos of old stuff.

  2. Agree, but they're still some great pics. Recommend the newer photos & related stuff be posted onto the "Cool Pictures..." thread - here's the link: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=425951 There's tons of good stuff on that thread as well!

  4. I saw this one awhile back, can't recollect just where it was posted. Apparently early 50s.

The look on her face is just plain nightmarish!

This particular photo is from the 1962 Winternationals. In the near lane is Dick Taylor's 57 fuelie that was dyno tuned by Nicholson. In the far lane is Rich Siroonian in Mazmanian's 61 Vette. Mazmanian ran the car in CM/Sp at the 62 Wintenats although later ran it in BM/Sp at a number of venues. Siroonian went on to win this race as well as CM/Sp on that day.-Jim

Thanks for the clarification. I knew someone would know the correct details. Sorry for the small pics, I tried blowing some of them up but they just look too grainy if you get too big. I'll try to pick some better ones, I wished mine looked as good as some of the others.

RIGHT, guys!:) Sorry, my comment was only to get input. I SHOULD HAVE:rolleyes: included the popular THEN-AND-NOW comparisons that Moe has done so well.:D

So, can we all agree on a GENERAL cutoff (not drop-dead) of 1980? And even at that, shouldn't posts relate (whenever possible), in some way, to subjects of pre-1965 to try & stay technically faithful to HAMB guidelines? As I said, just raisin' the subject. More viewpoints and suggested refinements or interpretations welcome, eh?:D

Hi, Dick & thanks for your opinion. Are you saying a LATER cutoff, NO cutoff, or maybe drop-dead at 1965 to go strictly by HAMB policy?

Or, maybe, NO more opinions/refinements welcome??? LOL

And I, sir, am an EXpert!!!!
(I USED to be a pert, but I'm retired now.:()

So, anyway, we'll put Dick in the YES column. ("What are you
rebelling against?" "Uh, whadya GOT?")

  23. Usually the person who started the thread (Dog427435) is considered the "owner" of it and generally sets the guidelines, and should be within the general HAMB posting guidelines. That said, although I'm cool with the 1979-and-earlier limit, if this thread is limited to 1964 and earlier, then we would miss shots like the hippie chick! <grin>

  24. Damn; only thing that could make that better would be a cold air intake from a high pressure point!
