A few of us just got together and had a saturday morning breakfast. We are planning on doing it again on Saturday June 18th. and making it an ongoing monthly thing. 1954 and older Hot Rods, Street Rods, at Jan's Place (Used to be Denny's) on US 1 in Fort Pierce. 8 am Saturday June 18th. Let me know if you can make it! FIRST AND THIRD SATURDAYS OF THE MONTH
Tom, 2 things, 1- can you give me a cross road or other point of interest if I'm coming from the North. 2- you know people that actually wake before 8 A.M.? TR
Traditions: It's about 2 blocks south of Virginia on US 1 (west side) We will be there on June 18 at 8 am (if you can get up) LOL
Come on...... all the "********" hot rods and rats alike, two times a month to chew the fat and check out the rides. I managed to get up at 7AM, [somehow], 5 local guys made it and its a start. They serve a ton of eggs for a breakfast. BARRESSE'
Been going to Jan's in Jensen Beach for years...even when they moved to the Condo location on Hutchinson Island...then back to Jensen. There IS no better breakfast in the entire world...not for THAT price. Jan and Bob are the greatest. I left to come North, just after they opened the Ft.Pierce Jan's. Hope it's as great a success as the original. I have been thinking seriously of Shipping my Roadster South for the Winter (car in my Avatar). I go to the Treasure Coast Mall on Tuesdays, and now with the Jan's Place once a month thing, that's a further incentive. Hope to see you guys at Jan's this Winter...one way or another...
Tom, I have been told there is a Sunoco down your way with the ethanol-free fuel, do you know where that is, or even know about it ? My new barber was telling me about it. He lives down your way, into the Muscle car scene.
I know I was in the Sunoco a year or so ago on Gatlin close to I 95, and they had Sunoco racing fuel. but I haven't noticed it anywhere else.
If I'm in town I'll be there. I know the parking situation has to be better there than at the Jan's in downtown Jensen, and the start time is a little easier than 6:00 AM like the DD's in Huntington Beach. Looking forward to it. Lee
I'm thinking we should have at least 10-12 that I know of, (or more) on this Saturday 8:00 AM at Jan's Place in Fort Pierce. See Ya There!!!
So since this is going to be at Jan's Place should the name be something like "H.A.M.B & Omelets with Grilled Homemade Specialty Breads" Naw, a little to long of a ***le I guess, but sure makes me hungry. Lee
the best breakfast around is at a little hard to find cafe in stuart called ALOHA CAFE , off us1 the street befor palm city road. a 4 egg omlitt & coffee about $5,00. nice owner cook JUAN . small place but great food....
Great Breakfast, nice cars, old friends, new friends, What more could you ask for? we'll do it again in 2 weeks, July 2. Jans Place, Fort Pierce.
I live in Ft.Pierce"Lakewood Park" I never knew you guys got together at that place. I have to say though the location"The old Dennys in Ft.Pierce" is kinda in a messed up neighborhood. Figured the one in Jensen or Hutchinson Island would be safer? I wish my 60 was done and I could participate in the cruise there.
No problem at the US-1 location and I don't think the "Crime Element" is up at 8:00 AM on a Saturday morning anyway. Lee
Mods, if this isn't alowed, I apologize and please delete. Tom, you should also advertise the meet in Mike Kelly's " CRUISE NEWS". Send new listings or changes to: cruisenews@cfl.rr.com, or Cruise News, P.O. Box 700519, St. Cloud, FL, 34770-0519. I have no affiliation with Cruise news, just a awesome way to list car shows and events. Hope you guy's had a excellent morning gathering and cruise there and back home. I will honestly try and make the next one. Have a great 4th, TR. Thanks captmullette for the tip!!
I used to take my roadster to the Ft. Pierce Cracker Barrel every sunday A.M. trying to get something started wish you guys were around then. this was back in the Top Dog days .
Tom, I used the word advertise and didn't mean too. That almost sounds like something you pay for. It is just a listing and should be 100% FREE, it's just listing a event or car show/gathering. The magazine is also 100% free at some of the autoparts stores. TR
Considering that it was 4th of July weekend, I think we had a nice attendence, I think we had 12 or 13 cars. I am going to talk to some of the guys, but I am thinking maybe the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month would be good.
Back in the 90's when I was street racing my 78 Trans Am on the weekends we'd eat there at about 2-3 am and it was a circus side show of freaks that came to that Denny's. glad its alot cleaner round there now.
