Okay, did a Google search,....It is $20.00 for people that want to enter and show their cars,... and free entry for spectators. That's a pretty awesome deal! ...(for the spectators).
And $10.00 for bikes. The facebook page is usually pretty current and shows pinup entries. Rooms are limited up there but I think there's still rooms left at the silverland where the shows at
I lived in Fallon for a couple years in the late 90s. I liked the area, Reno/Carson City etc. pretty well. I miss the great junk yards out there.

Anybody that cruises Caddys has to have style and aplomb. Tippin' a shot of Makers Mark in yer' honor...
reno/sparks is a special events community; there's always something to do: http://www.visitrenotahoe.com/reno-tahoe/what-to-do/events/special-events
I lived in Reno and Sparks for 26 years, it's a great place. I go there a couple of times a year to visit kids, grand kids, nieces, nephews, friends and my brother. It is a more family friendly place today than it was back in the 60s and 70s. I went to UNR and even did some racing there at the old T-Car Speedway in Carson City in the 70s and at the fairgrounds in the early 80s. You can't beat Reno in the summer time especially on the river.
true. but, it's not next week or in reno. to be honest: i liked speedweek better when it started the 3rd week in august and the only spectators were those of us who had already broken records, broke or became broke from spending too much time at the stateline (the original name of the nugget); before it became a destination for fantasy racers in rat rods; before "buying rides"; before paying to have a car built instead of building it yourself!
i drove, and won, a celebrity race at (what became known as) champion speedway during its last season (2002ish). now, sadly, it is just ruins.
I've seen pictures of that race track as it is today; how disgusting. That was a fun place to race. If you had a condition in turns three and four, you just went sailing out in the desert, off the top of the banking. You could go there on Thursdays and practice for free. Sorry to see it go.
if anyone needs a place to stay or want to throw a mini nor nev party at my place after midnight mass on july 30th we can do it at my place!!
I like the Reno area .... I particularly like the Carson City area - Dayton to be specific I picked up a 1941 Hudson Traveler there recently & hauled it to Dayton, Ohio Nice area Jim
and to top off the weeked there is a destruction derby that sunday after evening at the county fair! lol
My wife and I ran a group home for troubled teens in Reno for a few years back in the 90's. I'd still be there if I had my way but the job thing makes decisions for us!
Hey y'all, I'm currently considering a job near Carson City and have been researching the area. I've never been, but I've been to the Tahoe area. This would require a move from my much beloved Austin, TX, but the job appears to be pretty great so I'm considering the move. Are there some local (to Carson City) hot rodders around? I'm in the process of building an AV8 and will be needing to bribe new friends with pizza and beer to get some helping hands from time to time! Thanks! Tommy
