Man I am pissed! I didnt win even a best 8-track award..

Seriously I had a great time. It was fun to meet some new faces, see some old ones, and see a shitload of cool ass cars that looked "Dialed In". I did make it home... but the Oil pressure got seriously low once I got off 85 near the homestead.

Notstock the van looks awesome and that Olds is SICK!!!

Hope to see you guys at Willmington or somewhere else again soon!

BtW , we had a blast on the way down , everything went off without a hitch on the interstate , when we got to the main drag , the Fleetline got a little hot under the collar and puked about a gallon of anti-freeze , but , after the car cooled off , filled her back up , and around 2:30 hit the road back to the house , went off without a hitch , got some cool-ass pinstriping done by this guy named Bumgarner , but he kinda pisse me off when I looked around and he was climbing up on the hood of my car....no harm , no foul I guess....all in all, had a blast , will make this run again next year...:D

I agree, the guys did a great job with the show! Thanks Zman for posting the pics because I forgot my camera. You took great pic of my 6 banger belair and my uncles Green 50 Olds. We had a great time and Trade street was full!

  6. Great pix, Zman. Thanks for posting. Looks like an absolute great time.

  7. Guys, thanks so much for all the nice words about the Iron Lords. We greatly appreciate it. One thing to take into consideration is that there is NO way we could have done without the Road Devils and the Devil's Brigade. They kicked ass! Thanks alot fellas.

I will say that with some of the changes this year the show had a different vibe than in past years. We tried something new with the addition of a "Showcase". We invited cars to display in the showcase that fit the Iron Lords criteria for traditional. In general, the consenses was that it was a big hit. We had real deal survivor cars and tastefully done new renditions. We couldn't have been more pleased with the quality of the cars that showed up not just in the showcase but throughout the entire show.

Thanks so much to all that attended. I hope that you enjoyed the show enough to expect a better show next year and want to make the trek back.

Ted, no idea how you do what you do! We're here for you when you need us. Thanks.

Also, we were asked to do trophys this year and we decided to even keep the trophys traditional. We scrounged up vintage car and bike trophys and presented them. The newest one was from 1963. We were pleased with our decision and so were the winners.

I will have a few pics tomorrow to share.

  8. John, you need to remove this pic. We had nothing to do with this. He was there when we got there, honestly!

Can't wait to see your exposure of the show. Great to see you again.

I had a great time. Got to finally put some faces to names. Nice to meet you guys from the Iron Lords. Iron Lords really did a great job at helping with the show. I'm glad to see the Road Devils make the show and work so hard. It was great meeting a few of you. NotStock it was nice to meet you and the olds was awesome. Brett you go next year we will have to definetly have to get together. Set up a tent and hand out waters or something. The heat was rough but not like years past though. Zman it was nice meeting you even though I didn't know it was you. Great show.

Thanks guys, you put on a great show. This was my first time at the Heavy Rebel and the variety of cars was something to see. I didn`t have my car ready for the show, but we drove the yellow `51 Ford convertible. Thanks again guys, you did a great job!

Ted, from The Saints- Thanks a ton for a great show getting better and better. And thanks a ton for letting us be a part of it! I think I can speak for pretty much everyone when I say we had an awesome time! I will never figure out how you manage to do all the work required to put on such a huge show every year! Thanks for all that hard work!

Road Devils (Devil's Brigade)- You guys are AWESOME! Thanks for the work y'all put in at the show and thanks for the great showing you made with all those nice cars! Primo's roadster is cool and Jefe, so is your A model! Can't wait to see that Cad of yours in person! I am humbled and honored that you guys saw fit to give me the Best Engine award! I am more than aware of all the sacrifices you guys make in places nobody wants to go. For those that don't know, these guys are door kicking trigger pulling real life action figures. I appreciate EVERYTHING you guys do, especially outside the car world.

Tater- I'm so glad you and Del got your cad's brakes fixed up and you were able to drive it. I LOVE cadillacs and I especially love PINK ones!

    To this guy-

Please forgive me, I forgot your name (I met SO MANY new friends, its hard to keep track). But this was EASILY my favorite car of the entire show! A real deal survivor built by his dad in the '50s. Olds rocket engine and a killer custom interior original from when first built in the '50s. The story is every bit as cool as the car. The only things changed since the early days are wheels and tires and a new battery. Believe me when I say, this was the easiest choice we had to make all day as far as trophies were concerned. It garnered the Iron Lords pick as Best Hot Rod. I would've traded my pickup with the Cadillac engine in the back to take this awesome car home with me!! I am looking forward to you bringing this around to one of our shop nights and maybe even a ride!

To all the cool people I met- You guys are what make shows like this such an awesome time! I enjoyed talking to new friends and seeing old friends. My buddy Delton always says "be the change you want to see". He is correct and you guys are helping to be the change we all want to see with regards to getting better quality cars out there in order to show the unwashed why what we think is cool is better than what's not. I hope that makes sense, haha! :D

To everybody that caravaned with us to the show- thanks for supporting our club and thanks for just being awesome folks! I love all you guys (and gals) like cousins! You guys are who make our shop nights fun as well as the events we go to. Keep on keeping on!

Finally, to my fellow club members, my brothers and kissing cousins, my fellow Iron Lords. EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU are of the highest awesomeness! Boobs, your dedication and organization is something I admire. Jermany, your sheer talent and do it to it atitude is something I look up to. Shawn, you put in a lot of miles to be a part of what we do and I really appreciate you for that. Chris, you may be the nicest guy I've ever met and anyone who's ever met him knows he has the coolest southern drawl you'll ever hear. Dustin, you're just plain handsome. Kenny, you're a man of few words but I really appreciate you. Skeeter, you'll never read this due to your aversion to computers, but I love your Detroit (punk) Rock City Polish-ness. JJ, you and I share a lot of the same tastes when it comes to cars. I appreciate your talent as an artist and all the work you do for the club. And last but definately not least, Delton, you're an awesome person inside and out, I admire your sheer get it done atitude (and everything else).

Mostly, thanks for letting me be a part of the coolest car club on EARTH. You guys are each and every one RULERS of the highest kind! Being surrounded by this much talent and just plain coolness is something I never considered possible. I LOVE the Iron Lords and I love each and every one of you. Without you guys, I wouldn't be complete. I guess what I'm trying to say is I had an awesome time at the show and without you guys, it wouldn't have been the same.

Thanks for the kind words, I have to make a point to meet you when you come for goodguys. Some how some way I have missed getting to meet you the last couple of times you've been down here?

  23. Man, what a show - as a first timer I was blown away with everything, from the cars that were mild to wild, the weather (although hot, if you headed for the shade it wasn't too bad), the setup, everything. Ted, my hat is off to you and your crew, to the Iron Lords and the other clubs involved - you did an outstanding job and take that from someone who has run "Main Street, USA" shows many times before.

My reasons for attending are the love for that kind of show and for my buddy who was with me. He's gone through some personal hardship (a painful divorce), health issues (a stroke because of the divorce), and much more, all of which had taken its toll on him, putting him way down in the dumps - didn't smile, never laughed, always just so serious and out of it. Not any more - I have not seen that man laugh, smile, or have as much fun for over a year - your show put a smile back on his face and a spring back in his step! He had a blast!

Thank you again Ted and crew, to Ron, Curt, Chris and Gary (Gary - you need to send me a copy of all the pics you took and Chris - you were in rare form, my friend!) of the Iron Lords for welcoming us - it was great seeing you all again - just a super, super day. Finally, from my buddy, he says to give all the beautiful Vargas girls at the show a very big thank you. You certainly got his old "baby boomer" heart a thumpin again!

This was my first time at this event and it was the best show I have been to! Really cool cars, tatoo women, bitchen cars, rockabilly turnes, Dialed hot rods, mud wrestling, great people and the best collection of classic rods and customs. I special thanks to the Iron Lords for letting me tag along. My calendar is maked is marked for next year.

  30. Dick, it was a pleasure to have you and your '39 there. We're glad to have you around. It also pays to have a bitchen' car too!
