I started a thread for Hemi's now I thought I'd start one for my other favorite engines. Let's see your Caddy powered rides.
I would love to show a pic of mine but my 331 is currently an empty block sitting in my '49 and a few boxes of parts on the shelf while I scrimp and save for a rebuild and a triple carb set up,...hope I see some eye candy on this topic to motivate and inspire too!
Got 472 in my 68 sedan deville. It ain't doing so hot right now, the carb is living up to the quadrajunk name.
I have a 472 in my '68 Convertable. Just rebuilt it, runs awesome! I put a Edelebrock carb on it instead of Qjet. Still tuning but happy.
My '48 fastback/coupe still has Cadillac power....... at least for now. It has a 365 in place of the original flathead. In the context of their time the 331/365/390 first generation Cadillac overhead valve units were good engines.
Still early days but i'm using a 514ci Caddy in my 26T and another 514ci but with 8/71 blower in my Willys
Caddy's are awesome. Mine has a '62 390 that I blew, but I got a rebuilt '59 that I'm getting ready to drop in. I gotta chrome some stuff first...
here is a 61 cadillac 390 in my 32 coupedeville. offy 3x2 hirise intake , schneider cam, dimpled chrome valve covers
Does a '70 500" count...??? It's in a '55 Caddy, with T-400 behind it and it's sitting on a Trans Am subframe... R-
I like the "olds gold" painted 500, I'm painting my 472 the same color and putting it in a model A- based rod.... eventually. Its still on the stand, ready to be assembled.
My stock 62 390 with the goodies on it for fun. I'll be starting it out with a stock intake and a Mallory.I have another engine in the works thats getting special attention.
It's been suffering from being on the back burner too long but here's my Caddy powered '33 truck project.
Just about got this one finished up. Original dual quad '56 engine. Putting a T5 behind it and it's going in a '49 Ford coupe.
I've collected a 472 from a 74' CDV thats ready for a rebuild. It just won a demolition derby with no water for a solid 10 minutes... (The car was as rotten as could be, don't be mad at me...) Its already got an Edelbrock manifold and the Accell HEI with it. Its heading for my 53' 1/2 ton Chevy. I'm aiming for a 500ish hp, and am planning on running a manual trans. I've also collected up a MII front end, Comp Eng 4 link kit, Ford 9... now... to find the time to put it all together...
I've got a '62 390 that I'm planning on sticking in my '55 Chevy 2dht if no one wants to buy it. Too good of an engine to just leave sitting. A friend of mine has a somewhat-built 472 in his '55 Buick Roadmaster which was just run for the first time a couple weeks ago.
