PAINT IT! I love the pics of the Chevy towin a Ford. haha. It was good seeing you out there, I want to see it run in July!!

 

I get **** from the Ford guys about that from time to time, sorry but as an engine builder there are things about the Ford OHC engines that I don't like. I had a Ford daily driver before the chebbie, bought it new and sold it with 365k on the clock. We'll see how this one does, it's at 160k now and still got the factory trans. so I'm ahead of the game.

I'm sorry, I had to run it to get it on and off the trailer and never thought of video, now it is back in the shop for finishing touches so you will have to wait a couple more weeks. It sounds great though.

 

Paint it !!!!
The extra wieght is offset by the better aero properties of the smooth paint.

 

They liked my cage this last weekend but I was told to add a little to it, that is why I went down to have it looked at. Here's what had to be added, diagonal from the main hoop to lowere right hand corner, continue the diagonal behind the seat and hoop to keep my foot in if the body was completely ripped off.

Cage is done now!

I say if it looks good weathered, which it does, leave it! A couple coats of satin clear will keep salt from killin it and save you the money for a paint job later if you like. Its about speed after all isnt it? Pretty paint doesnt make you go faster, and shiny paint isnt always good!!

Im not against a pretty paint job. Its what gets me a paycheck every week! I just think it looks tough as it is.

 

Glad to see it's getting some paint. Hopefully it will look as good as Bigredtodd's killer ch***is work!

Yeah, I was swaping cams. not the easiest thing to do on the salt, or to a Y as far as that goes.
