IF someone wants a '32 Ford Roadster, they'll beg, borrow or steal that 50 bucks...

Don, If your talking about your car you will not have any problem selling what ever number of tickets you decide to print. Just be sure it's advertised enough so there is no excuse for anyone not having a chance to buy.
I've never even thought about putting a price on any of my grandkids but I'm now thinking.....................I've got seven of the buggers.........probably could do without at least a couple........yea, the older ones who think they know everything.:cool:. I'M IN!!!!! Where do I send the $$$$$$'s

OLDER photos ... now has different rims :D :D

Don, my concern is for you to get anywhere near the reduced asking price ... @ 5 dollars each .. you have to sell 200 tickets for every thousand dollars. Multiply that 200 times your bottom price and that is a LOT of tickets.

    Just a EXAMPLE 200 X 60 = 12,000 tickets.

    That said,
I do not need another 32 Roadster ... but I would buy a few tickets.

The wife said she remembers you and Bev going up Route 66 in your 32 ... with us following behind ...

    GOOD TIMES :) :)

I'm afraid that you would find your state regulations on such a thing to be prohibitive. I think that raffles are usually limited to not for profits. From there, you would find yourself involved in the state gambling regulations. So, I'm thinking the reason folks don't do this is probably because you would have to be something like a licensed casino.

Absof'nlutely at either price, you can count me in for a $100 or so! ...and it won't cost me anything to have it delivered if I win, you can just drive it over to my place and I'll give a lift home! I'd even let you take it for a spin now & again!

Well, I've already tossed in a couple of monkey wrenches so I wasn't going to bring this up...but since it's out now this is in fact why there are zero private "raffles"...most only benefit a charity...

However, if you can set yourself up as a charity (more state/government paperwork), you might be able to pull it off.

    Whoa!!!!---Wait a minute!----This is a HYPOTHETICAL QUESTION!!!
I just wanted to get the reaction of my fellow HAMBERS!!
Based on what 40StudeDude replied & my friend Randy (deuce roadster) compiled, I can see the simple logistics would be for $5.00 tickets.

SO, I'll backup & start over----Lets say, how many would still be intrested at $500.00 per raffle ticket???-----Limited to actually 150 tickets.

First, you have to see if it's legal, which in California, I know it's not.

Second, a totally independent third party, like an escrow company, would have to collect the money.

Third, the drawing would have to be done in public at an exact place and time designated on the tickets.

Fourth, the "winning" ticket holder would be responsible for paying sales tax on the price, not of the ticket, but of the car's value backed up by an independent appraiser, which could be many thousands of dollars.

You want to sell your car? Sell it.
    If you don't, don't.
This is a cluster#$@^ waiting to happen.

  26. I agree with Mazooma1. The only way would be if you were donating all the money to charity. Then the charity could run it legally

There is a way around the raffle part, I believe is worth investigating.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
    <o:p> </o:p>
Donate it to a non-profit with the understanding that they get all proceeds after $X. Up to $X is the amount they spend on buying the car from you for the raffle. And, perhaps, you might even be able to claim the amount over $X as a contribution as that would work into the fair market value.<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p> </o:p>
Trick will be if you have a relationship with a non-profit/church.

    Just thinkin'...
