Anyone coming out to El Mirage to sweat this weekend?? We are going to try and break out of our 66 mph slump this weekend. We'll be getting out there on Sat afternoon look for the HAMB banner
I'll be there bright and early sunday morning. I have to get my "fix" as I'm p***ing on *****ville this year. Gonna be hot...have to see if they had any rain damage yesterday. I'll be checking the SCTA/BNI site daily.
Here's the forecast for Sunday. Today there's some lightening strikes and it's pretty unstable from Edwards Air Force Base to the 395......we'll see <table cl***="Basic" align="CENTER" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td valign="TOP"> <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td cl***="vbgA" align="CENTER" height="30" valign="MIDDLE" width="50%">Day</td><td cl***="vbgA" align="CENTER" height="30" valign="MIDDLE" width="50%">Night</td></tr><tr><td align="CENTER" bgcolor="#F6F1D4" valign="TOP"> <table style="border:#E3E1C7 solid; border-width:1px; background-color:#FFFFFF;padding:5px;" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="80%"><tbody><tr><td cl***="blueText" align="CENTER" valign="MIDDLE" width="45%"> Mostly Sunny</td><td cl***="blueText" align="CENTER" valign="MIDDLE" width="55%">High 96°F Precip 0%</td></tr></tbody></table> <table style="padding:3px;" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="80%"><tbody><tr><td cl***="blueFont10" align="LEFT" width="54%">Wind:</td><td cl***="blueFont10" align="LEFT" width="46%"> From SSW at 14 mph </td></tr><tr><td cl***="blueFont10" align="LEFT">Humidity:</td><td cl***="blueFont10" align="LEFT">24%</td></tr><tr><td cl***="blueFont10" align="LEFT">UV Index:</td><td cl***="blueFont10" align="LEFT">10+ Extreme</td></tr></tbody></table> <table style="padding:3px;" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="80%"><tbody><tr><td colspan="2" height="20"> </td></tr><tr><td cl***="blueFont10" align="LEFT">Sunrise:</td><td cl***="blueFont10" align="LEFT">5:45 AM PT</td></tr><tr><td cl***="blueFont10" align="LEFT">Avg. According to Tiny (SCTA caretaker) the lake got rain today. Check landracing.com. Lets hope it dries by Sunday.
I thought I would make it for a test run at least but the truck is not finished. I'll be working on it this weekend so I can make Speedweek, I guess I'll have to do my testing at PTV.
The BLM closed the lakebed today. The SCTA will be inspecting the lakebed tomorrow and Friday and a decision will be made. Keep an eye on the SCTA website. scta-bni.org
Both Rosamond and Rodgers (Muroc) have some standing water on them. But it's the desert and who knows how fast that stuff will evaporate.
check here often....supposed to be rain on and off between Muroc and Apple Valley today, and we all know that doesn't mean drizzles http://www.scta-bni.org/
Official on SCTA site. The July meet is CANCELLED. The lakebed won't holdup to a meet. See ya at Bonneville!!
At least we won't be fried!! Lance throw the bike in your truck and head for Bonneville! You won't regret it.
Funny how the schedule to start packing for Speedweek coincides with the cancellation of the July meet............ I liked the idea of running the course backwards (East to west) and using the mud as the back door. Damn, will have to pull the mud prop off the Mastercraft and take the wife skiing.
Our weekend is planned, money spent, loaded up. We're still going out there we'll just be riding our dirt bikes and not racing. It should be relaxing! As far as Bonneville, next year.
