When the law opened up with those BAR's (Browning Automatic Rifles) it was all over for that infamous duo---They got their JUST desserts!!-----Don

This is a keen pic. It's obvious that they're rehearsing a scene, and Ozzie is giving Harriet direction. My question may sound stupid (add it to my list! LOL): WHAT the heck if the appliance to the left of the fridge? It doesn't look like any water heater I remember seeing back then, and even the Nelsons wouldn't have had a water-softener back in the '50s, would they?

YUP, and that mad dog Dillinger got off light, considering what a merciless s---head he (and his gang) was! The movie portrayed Bonnie and Clyde as some sort of star-cross victims of circumstance, doomed for the sins of Coolidge and Hoover, and caught in the throes of an economic event bigger than any human being's ability to endure!

HOGWASH! Millions of other people were struggling to make an honest living and just survive. Bonnie and Clyde lived pretty high robbing banks of OTHER people's hard-earned dollars. I reckon they caused more than one small bank to close for good, too. BTW, my previous post was CORRECTED. The law caught up with them in Louisiana not Texas. But Don's right: The Johnny Laws set up an ambush and poured it on 'em with less mercy than you'd show a rabid dog. At least the taxpayers didn't have to feed them while they awaited trial, appeals, etc.! That's back when the American Way meant business, eh?

Nope, he wasn't stupid at all. I seem to recall it stated that his speechless, wild-eyed act was ONLY his SCREEN PERSONA. In fact, I can recall seeing him actually play a long and beautiful harp solo, either in a short or during a vignette in one of the brothers' movies, purposely showcasing one of Harpo's talents.

Funny how it all seems to FIT together to illustrate the history of the times when hotrodding was young. Awesome forum, eh?
