    "Clear"? Tim, you a pilot?

The truck sounds crisp, and the stance is great!

What speed are you shooting/hoping for?

    Good luck!

sounds awesome, tim. good luck on the salt this year.

  5. ;) Yep!

This year I don't expect much more than 130 - 140 This engine was not built for anything more than testing. I spent most of my $ just building the truck so next year I'll spend a little more on the engine. I will be taking another pumpkin with a higher gear ratio and change it out if I feel the truck can pull it, also I'm waiting to hear from Ted Eaton on some heads of mine that he is running on his dyno mule. He has one set just like these and another that were on the "Brick" last year, if the "Brick" heads perform better I may swap them on the salt since Ted will be returning them to me there. Next year maybe some CNC ported Mummert heads.

It should be an interesting Speedweek to say the least, I'll be happy just to make a few p***es no matter what the speed. :D

BTW the speed I'm "shooting for" would be something just over 164.230

Me too, since I was 17!

I understand the spending all the money on the build! I'm with you in the fact that if a few p***es are made, the ride stays intact, nothing breaks, etc., it's been a success!

Looks like we are shooting for almost identical speeds-are target is 165.

Here's wishing you all the luck in the world, and we'll see you on the salt!:D

    Hey Tim looking good mate!
do you have a part# for that Enertia switch

  11. Sorry Andy I don't. All you have to do is go to your local wrecking yard and ask for one. All the late Fords have them.

I've always liked that Uni. Thanks for the pix.

I love the truck and look forward to seeing it on the salt.

I overheard stories of problems with the inertia switches on a few cars last year. It appears the switches would trip from vibration on some cars, shutting off the fuel system while the engine was at full song, leaning them out, resulting in catastophic engine failure.

One of the most clever ideas I heard of to prevent this problem was to wire it with an idiot light that goes on if the inertia switch trips, allerting the driver to reset the inertia switch before the lack of fuel causes engine failure.

God that just sounds mean. As well it should.

  14. When they started requiring the switch last year there was fears of this happening from the beginning, there have been several solutions one of which we have stuck with.

  15. Those are the kind of fireworks I can appreciate!!!

  16. Thanks Todd! Talked to my body shop friend today, looks like we might get some "new" paint on Jake next week. :D

  17. That's awesome...I'm glad one of us is making progress, I'm just bringing more home. Pretty excited about today's arrival though.

  19. I know but I'll let him tell. He can even post a picture here if he likes. hint hint.

  20. Well, the short story is I have become a Ford guy...this helped. This one will not be getting a big Caddy, or a Y-Block though. All I have are a few terrible pictures, sorry. I'd like to get it back to something like the old B&W picture below...

And I can't believe how fast you guys have put it together.

  29. It was not an easy job to say the least, as a matter of fact I had no plans of painting the floor since it will be covered with that foil lookin' insulation sheet but while trying to reach a hard spot on top of the cage the gun droped the cup off and spashed on the floor. So Kathy brought me a brush and I spread it around, I think it turned out OK. ;) Extra protection from the salt. :D

  30. Off to the paint shop! :D
