Thats a ton of work but the end results are amazing. My hats off to you for pulling that off so cleanly!
I've often wondered why more chops are not done like this. Other than the obivious reason that there is a lot more work to be done, but the end result is killer. I do have one question about the 7" filler panel on the driver's side ..... It appears to be curved on the rear side and was there a reason for doing that or was that just a piece of metal that was laying around?
^^^^ You know your like the 3rd person too ask me that recently, I wasnt there when Ray filled those in and I believe he told me why but it was over 6 yrs ago and has slipped my mind....Im going to call and ask him..makes me wonder also! To everyone else, Thank you again, I hope it answered some questions...hopefully there will be some new posted cars here soon, I feel like mines hoggin the thread at the moment!
Here's a few of my '37...I'm almost done with it! I hope you guys think it's OK to put on this thread. ...and a couple I stole from Slim Pickens post from the Rhinebeck tread...
Really nice tail dragger. Hope it still has a 6 cylinder engine with a split manifold and glass pack mufflers. I can hear those pipes rapping now. And BTW, are you sure it's a Merc or do you need to change your name to LeadSledChev .....
^^^ What a beautiful car!! Nice work Hudson, this thread will be a all time great one if we keep filling it with the quality of cars we have been!
Sorry to disapoint you, but I'm runnin a Nailhead in it like I do all of my projects! Eric, it seems like Bill is always ball bustinl, I don't know what his issue is, but I wish he'd learn to be a nicer person...like you and me!! X2 on that!!!
Ha! Its probably a good thing they have the smileys to add or I would have been kicked off a while ago!! I guess I will go start a "Class-less Kustoms Thread" featuring my '54!
The B/W photo of the "54 Merc is Junior Conway's brothers car. I saw that car cruising down Pacific Coast Highway in 1958. I never had seen a car that low driving down the street. No bags, no hydraulics, they were not around then. The Merc was gloss black and way too cool.
WOW !!.....That looks fabulous !.....great color choice....I hope to see it in person again with the new paint at the fall run....nice job.....
