Thanks mike , there is so much stuff on the wagon that has suttle changes to it im starting to forget what a stock 59 stuff looks like:D

    Thank you jim
Thanks, yes it is coming together after all this time , Finally !!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks , if i keep at it, at this pace im on secudial to having the body off the frame by oct- nov time frame , im keeping my fingers crossed

Me too, because of all the compliemets and question from all you guy:D thanks again
yes its the air tank for the suspension, its actually not in the trunk , since i changed up the rear of the car and added the 3rd row seat i had to find a spot for the 8 gallon air tank and the only place that it would fit is where u see it in the picture , inside the right lower quarter panal .in the picture im in the process of making a removible cover so the tire doesnt throw stuff all over the air tank when going down the road .

Thanks man , i think the only fear that i have when i modify a lot of this stuff is how much its going to prolong the build , but other than that in my mind im just trying to fix things that look out of place :D

yes they do nads , the only down fall is how much time it takes to shorten them , well for me aneyways , i guess its taking so long because im getting rid of the bumper bolts in the process also .

    thanks rob

    Thank you.

More Monday updates , so today I started on mounting the rear bumper , since I smoothed out the bumper and got rid of the bumper bolts I had to make a new way of mounting it so when the bumper is tightned down it didnt distort the outer surface of the bumper , also I started on making the lower rear valance panal since mine was pretty much gone or smashed to peices .

Your metal working skills are just phenomenal and the subtle changes just tie it all together. This is my favorite wagon for sure.

You've given me hope for Mondays again.

great to see you are making these, very hard to find.
i am thinking of modifing some from a sedan.
once you figure out the size and location of the rear corner valances i would appreciate knowing what worked?

Cody, may I suggest that you bring that thing to Jalopyrama without the paint so we can admire the metalwork? I'm thinking maybe you could get that thing inside with a little help of an influential Hamber or two. You are welcome to use my trailer, if you need it. WX1

    Thanks guys

I had always planned on making them from scratch since one i never like the orgional ones since they had the cut out for the bumper brackets and two i knew that finding a set in good shape and modifying them i would have had the same amount of time , so i just made them , but in your i think the wagon/elky ones a shorter in hight then the sedan , so u might get lucky and just have to cut them down , i made mined i think 6 -3/4" from top to bottom with the radious , i hope this helps

Chris that would be awesome , i thought getting inside the jalopyrama was an invational ,one time only deal . but would they even except a project car ? also that means i have a lot to do before october then , i was hoping to have the body off the frame by that time period and have everything in a (thousand peices:D) , but well see , decision decision wow that a hard one:confused: but if it did happen it would be a huge honor to get in there .

Well, it's worth a try. I wish I knew someone over there, but I don't. Thought with your connections in the business, you might be able to make a contact or have someone make it for you. OR, maybe someone here on the HAMB would have some connections??? Your build is well documented and would make an interesting display, in or outside. WX1

  21. That looks amazing! I still have to drill out the old screws holding the filler panel under the t/gate. I haven't done it, cos' I soo despise doing it! Now I know what mine should look like, out back! Gracias my friend!

Most of my customers dont want to pay for that kind of attention to detail, and Im so impatient I just want to drive my stuff, so the details never seem to get taken care of!! Just have to say, once again, your a bad mofo!!! Keep it up. Maybe one day I'll finish something with insperation from guys like you!

ok guys just a heads up i changed my user name i just felt it was time to use my real name .

Thanks man , i know what u mean i think there still some of the original screws in mine too when i made the new valance panals i put the brackets in differents spots and when the bodys off the frame ill just weld thoes holes up instead if taking the time drilling out the broken of rusted screws .
    THANK YOU
Thanks man , i guess thats why its taking to long to finish this thing because im so particular about the details .

Im in the same boat with the stuff i work on at work ,not a lot of customers have the money for the time to go into all the details or just dont care ,so thats one of the reason why im building this thing

Cool ,thanks, what year and kind of wagon ?

Here's the start of the actual door push buttons, I bought 1 " stainless steel bolts and had my good friend Jerry machine them since I don't have a leath nor the time right now to do it . There just rough in I still have to go back and fine tune them when I get a chance.

Also another highlight of my day was when I came home and the rare 12 port head for my 292 that I got off if eBay was here .

So I'm kinda debating of I should just get the car done and all the bugs work out before I mess with this head, or go ahead and install it .
