Thank you sir! Been carrying Hot Rod annual #2 since I bought it off a spinner rack at Johnny Lopers speed shop here in Phoenix in '77 or so... Your truck has been a favorite for a while.

  14. That is very cool. I am building one similar for a customer now, only with a Ford 2300 banger. Paint is gorgeous on this one. Love the simple style.

    Hey gang,
I have a kinda general request... I have been playing a bit more with my shop bound '29 a bit more in the last couple of weeks since I posted my horrible picture back on post #420 a couple of pages ago. One of my stumbling blocks on this deal has always been tail lights and license plate placement on this beast. How about some roadster pickup rear action? (EEERRR...?) I'd like to see tail lights and tail gates, especially on highboys. I keep trying the stock tail light and bracket, and it just doesn't quite get me there.

  27. Can't tell from the pic if you will be running fenders or not. [IMG]

The stock '28 type tail light mounts work pretty well with fenders.

horrible pic but machined brackets out of aluminum and polished them to hang the tail lights under the roll pan in line w the tailgate straps ! machined a bracket that slides into the reciever i added to the frame to be able to pull a camper so the plate covers it when not in use

No Dean, this one will live it's first life without fenders. I will be collecting up a set eventually though. Thought about it after I blamed you for my full fendered roadster pick up obsession a few months ago, and decided that it will have to have them at some point. Just waiting for the right deal. But in the mean time, fenderless it will be, and the stock mounting for some reason with AZ's wide '28 plate just doesn't look right.
