Going up for Saturday only, as I have to make it up further North in KS to pick up parts for my o/t IH Travelall 4x4 conversion, so I'll be there as a spectator only. Should be fun!

OUCH- 106- that is HOT ! We could fry eggs on the sidewalk. This is nothing compared to what our solders have been dealing with in the desert extreme heat, wearing full battle gear and no comforts of home A/C. For all you guys and gals that have been there done that (THANK YOU ) .We get to have freedom and fun at these shows with motels with A/C because these guys are watching our backs. So when you think you can't take the heat think about them. SEE YA THERE !

So Is there any reason in particular they do this thing in JULY instead of a less miserable time of year ?

I know, you think it would be in march, or october or anytime other than the middle of summer. I can just imagine a meeting years ago with the city officials in a nice air condtioned office saying something like "Tell ya what, we'll make em do it in the middle of july. Then see how many of these hoodlum hot rodders show up. Im sure it wont last long !! Hahahahah"
They just didnt realize who they wre dealing with... We dont care about no stinking heat when theres a thousand hot rods and customs to see! :D

Doesn't mean anything yet, but the extended forecast is calling for lower to mid 90's. It doesn't matter to me much but I know a couple of our more senior friends are more affected by the heat than I am. Our family will have plenty of water on hand by our cars, stop by & say hi.

maybe a switch of dates with the WI KKOA show is a consideration?

WI in July, KS in Sept. makes some sense to me

There's already a show every weekend in Sept. in KS, and a couple of them are fairly large shows with around 1000 cars. There's already 2 shows each on the 3, 11 & 24th.

The way I figure it, I'm only going to be there for three days...I can stand the humidity for that long. Besides, I can look forward to heading back to ColoRODo on Sunday where there is no humidity.

Salina too hot? If the show was held at a fairgrounds or a race track, maybe I would consider
it to be too hot. The show is held in a park and covered with large shade trees and a short
trip to the hotel. You can spend all day in the shade. Yes it will be hot but you stay
    kool checking out the kustoms.

If you are into "real" kustoms you will have a blast!!

    Happy Trails, Mick

I think I am actually getting used to this heat....

However- the long range forecast looks good:

Details for Wednesday, July 27 <!-- Check if Day or Evening -->
Mainly sunny. Highs in the low 90s and lows in the mid 60s.

    I'll have to wear a jacket. ;)

  23. That's ok... I'll know when to turn off the "surveillance" equipment and when to turn on the tracking stuff!;)

The Hot Rod looks shinny, I guess that it has been a while since I've seen it.

Yep, since last July...and it is shiny...Chad had the body redone and painted a month or so ago (June)...actually it's not supposed to be shiny, it's supposed to be a matte finish...and it's a charcoal color now...which is much better than any flat black. I approved it and it takes a lot for me to approve a dark colored car...!!!:rolleyes::rolleyes::D:D:eek:

Very Kool, it got the "Jetter" seal of approval. Congrats Chad! I thought that
it was kool before the improvements. The Merc is dark this year who knows
what mine will end up. I'm going to play with some colors this winter.
