Thanks so much Mick - I definitely have taken numerous bad ones. Of course, I don't post them

 

Dan would you stop posting pictures, I'm getting depressed that it isn't time yet..
This is one of may all time favorite Mercs and this is the koolest picture ever taken.
Excuse me while I got back and stare at it. Thanks for posting it... is so kool!

As to that 49 Merc Wagon - I am even more impressed with it after hearing the run down on how it was put together when Don(?) was interviewed about it on My Cl***ic Car a few weeks ago.

 

Dave Dolman of Verndon, NE built it...I don't know if he still owns it tho...I saw that Merc in his shop...it was stuffed in a corner and what pieces of the body he had were stacked on what was left of the floor/frame... He told me what he planned, but I figured the car would never be resurrected...happily, Dave proved me wrong.

Roger - now that you mention it, Dave does sound like the right name. Hopefully it will be there again this year.

And as a tribute to all the guys who see a what the raw automotive material can be turned into, here's a fun before and after situation I ran into last year.

 

You are correct Roger. Ole Davey is a good ole boy, but he a little on the grumpy side. I saw him driving it memorial day weekend, so as of then he still owned it. Im positive he will be at Salina one way or another.He is a good friend of carkiller on here too.

I know this is probably not a HAMB safe car, but it was a nice shot, so I am including it anyway.

 

Mick - I think this semi crazy version of Mercs in Black includes your car.

 

I feel honored that you took a picture of my Merc. Wait a minute, you took the picture
of Flat Top Bob's Merc and I'm in the back ground. It is a Kool to see a Mild Kustom
parked by a wild one.. Kool example of what you will see in Salina.

Actually it was intended to be a picture of both. A lot of times, hell 95% of the time, the positioning of the cars relative to what is in the background, on the side and so forth determines how I shoot it. I really hope I get a good crack at your car this year. I love the body craftsmanship and that satin black paint.

I got a chopped 49 sedanette coming. Belongs to Tommy Carver out of Charlotte area. I did some ch***is, metal, and paint work on it last year. I'll give ya a little peak.
