Reminds me of a driver's ed movie where I missed a question because the movie had the wrong hubcap on a car. I was in the simulator driving along--I was driving a Ford and there was a Rambler beside me, then they focused in on the wheel of "my" car and it had a Rambler hubcap. The tire blew and I hit the brake because I didn't want the Rambler to swerve into me. Oh, it was supposed to be my car that blew the tire and I was supposed to ease it over......

  2. Does this "Bad Boy" still exist?

If it does... why hasn't there been any photo's of it besides the photo on the cover of the model kit box?

This is cool, I'm looking at picking up a 59 Taunus 17M sedan I don't need only because I already own a matched identical pair of 59 Taunus 12M Supers that are only 12 numbers apart on the Vin#'s... I actually like the Tuanus's a lot, quick little buggers!

Thanks for clearing that up! :)

THANKS for the close-up. Squinting at the smaller pix, I thought
it resembled the brush hog I used to operate!:D

Oh, and yes, to be precise the so-called "Summer of Love" was indeed 1967.;) There was
no sponsoring organization nor master-mind, as it was a sort of "happening." It was sup-
posed to be a counter-culture affair driven by free thought, truth, free love, rejection of
establishment trappings (stuff like holding down a paying job, for example:rolleyes:), etc. By the
end of that one summer, truthful participants admitted that what started out as a cool con-
cept had gone sour, spoiled by humanity's USUAL:eek: foibles and vices -- in particular, drug
use. But the Summer of Love was, IMO, when the "hippie" lifestyle got its unofficial start.
And people were still trying to keep the concept alive in '69 when Woodstock took place.
That, too, wasn't all sweetness and light!:(

Yep, 67 was the year I graduated from high school and had to scramble to get into a junior college to stay out of the rice paddies! It was indeed a milestone year!

All I remember of the 'summer of love' was the draft board telling me they did not want me (bad heart) so I went to Woodstock.

The "Miss Bellows Falls" is still there. Pretty sure it's still open too. I grew up about 7 miles from it,never had the pleasure of eating there though.

As stated in post 27987, The tempest did not have the first motor in front and trans in the rear. My Father had a 1914 Saxon with the Motor in front and Trans in the rear axel. It also had leather brakes!!!

The car / boat conversion is a Pierce Arrow, not a Packard. It was called a Bevo Boat, built by A-B truck body building devision. They built several of them over the years, and with the Volstead Act in effect it was the only product they could sell. It's on a 1931 chassis. It has since been restored and placed on a 31 Cadillac V-12 chassis.

The term Bumping and painting was a very common term at least in into the Fifties so i guess we got some youngsters with us!This is probably Emmert Chevrolet in Detroit which was on Grand River on the westside of town.Emmert survived at least into the 70's,They were one of the few Detroit area dealers that stocked COPO iron block 427 Camaros thanks to a gentleman who dated the owners daughter at the time and worked in the COPO office for Chevrolet.
