Looks good to me!!! Love the stude... I remember seeing it coming together at ark city several years ago!!
We were hoping to have it painted for salina, BUT more changes, more welding, and just life got in the way, it will be there in primer.
If you have any work that a monkey could do, I could bring some work clothes & donate a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon.
Jeff, love the twilight shot of the Stude. D's truck is getting sweeter by the moment. Thanx for some updates. Hope it is in Salina. ~sololobo~
Truck looks good in the pictures but you can't get the whole "kool" effect until ya see it in person. It looks nasty sitting on the ground, even without the primer it is hard to notice all of Jeff's changes that he made. They didn't make changes because they could, they did it to improve the line. Some of the changes are so smooth you forget to notice them. Looking forward to seeing it in primer Happy Trails, Mick
Thanks Mick, yes we don't do changes for sake of change , we do them as needed to make everything flow and be smooth, that is waht makes a real kustom kool, you know it is done right when most can't tell what has been changed ! But they know something is different, smooth and flowing lines.
Mick, the truck is officially, radically mild..........It's funny where the final product ends up...... i think Jeff has about ten pages of drawings and sketches of ideas that we used...... there are some we didnt use, but we'll save them for another project....I can't wait to have both trucks together at shows!......
Your truck reminds me of Jimmie Vaughn's fastback Chevy. When you first look at it, you don't realize all of the changes that were done. When you start to look for all of the changes, you can't find them all. It takes a real kustom builder to work so hard to change something, knowing that it will look so good no one will notice. I love it! Happy Trails, Mick
The trucks are saweet!!! Look forward to see them running around. Jeff, you and Mcphail have a sick style and I love it!!! Its awesome you guys dream this stuff up and follow thru with your ideas.....stuff legends are made of!!!! Keep up the killer work!!!
Some new updates.. body work dialed in on cab, cab in primer, and block sanding in the 100+ kansas days. I heve been coming in some days about 4 am to beat the heat, but I find myself working just as late in the day. fender skirts are cut out and i am finishing the welding then, its grind time. I am not sure how far along the bed will be at salina, but everyone will get to see all the welding first hand.
Damn, this heat, makes it hard to work long hours, just wears you out! but we are strong like bull , so must move on!
Very kool Jeff, I've been concerned about ya fighting the heat. I think that it is kool to see the truck in progress, it will be kool to see all of the kustom work that you've done to the truck. It will also encourage people to drive their kustom and show it even though it isn't finished. Kustoms are kool finished or not, the truck is going to get a lot of attention. Salina too hot? If the show was held at a fairgrounds or a race track, maybe I would consider it to be too hot. The show is held in a park and covered with large shade trees and a short trip to the hotel. You can spend all day in the shade. If you are into "real" kustoms you will have a blast!! Happy Trails, Mick
I actually did most of the work....... jeff is just riding on my coat tails.........hahahaha..... Seriously though, It's been fun to actually take our time on this one..... Jeff is the man and I can't believe he works as hard as he does in this heat...... I helped put a door on yesterday and was wasted for the rest of the day....... I don't care if the truck doesn't get any attention at all, To me, the truck is going to be the perfect 'mild custom' truck. we have a whole hell of a lot of time in "engineering and design" as well, which is my favorite part of building. I know I have a good idea when I can see the gears turning in jeff's head. This build has been extra fun cause we got Voodoo Jim along with us. Jeff and I get tired of each other and Jimmy has added alot of ideas, as well as fun, to the build.......... That's what makes these builds so cool.... hanging out with my friends.....
This truck is really coming along nice guys, looking forward to seeing it in person in Salina finished or not. Watching this build thread makes me want spend a little more time on mine. thanks for the inspiration, hopefully I can meet you guys in Salina and say Hi, Scott
wait....theres two guys named scott and they both have blue collar kustoms...this id really going to mess me up. stop by say hi. Looking foreward to meeting new people. And If it weren't for dennis I wouldn't get to build all this kool shit, the heat sux , but what do you do, I can't set in the office under the a/c like alot of other people. I got to work !!
