Well, MotherNature has a way of weeding out the stupid - maybe he is smart enough to hang up his driving gloves. I doubt it tho, this was last year and he is probably back at it by now and blamed his crew for lining him up wrong.

 

I have three things to say about that.

The starter should have never started the tree with the car sitting like that.

It never ceases to amaze me how guys who can't find their ****s with two hands and a flashlight end up with (at least for a short period of time) a great drag car.

That's all I have to say about that.

I liked the... "What the hell was that about" line that sounded like Hank from King of the Hill.

 

The front wheels were so ugly, the car tried to kill them along with the horrid paint.

 

That vid just ****s. I'm surprised the starter didn't wave him back.

To be fair, I've had friends who've lined up crooked and they don't realize it. Last year I was staging two 7 second cars owned by buddies, getting staged by a helper is very helpful.

 

i was there ! i saw the starter look at him ! he crashes so now everybody has to wait for them to get the car out of the way ! the starter should have made him straiten the car up ! for the person that didnt like that guys wheels or paint , dont go wishing hin crashing his car ! some of thats going to rub off on you !

 

Sad---and yes, it did sound like Hank Hill on the video----musta been boomer at the wheel. It seems there were no injuries other than the wallet. Crazy that could happen at such an experienced strip! ~sololobo~

Pretty amazing that the race was allowed to run with him being lined up so far out. And then he tried to drive through it. I don't get that. It wasn't a Pro race for points or money so why risk tearing up your **** at that point.
And then the C/Gas Comet does a similar act.
Weird.

 

This 55 Bird was pretty wild. Not caused by being lined up crooked but pretty wild. I guess it is a g***er it looks more like a pro-mod car to me.

Yup started out crooked and added just a little to much propane and propane accessories....

 

They've let the cars go way too far to be g***er anymore. Voth of those should have been run as Pro Mods. Leave the G***er cl***es to Nostalgia instead of ruining t by allowing that style of car. Get rid of the big wings and all that other ****. I like Pro Mod cars, and that's where these belong - not in a g***er cl***!

I agree totally. Promods are cool in their own right and don't need to break into gas cl***. I guess it is a sign of my age but I just don't think that a "G***er" should be be able to get confused with another cl*** of car.
