Time to decided if I'm going to louver this realy nice stock hood. If I do I have two styles to choose from??????? I like this set up design on a round edge hood.
This style is spot on, think I found these shots on the h.a.m.b ...saved them because I wish to louver my hood also..Rod.
thats looks awesome...i love it!...looks like you have a thing for the 40 ford...who dosent! keep up the excellent work
Well I spent next months SS check and ordered my whitewall tires today from Diamond Back. Once again my alliance membership gave me a $10 per tire discount. Talk to Tab and he will do that for HAMB members. Can't wait to mount them up in a couple weeks on my new OEM chrome wheels I got from wheelkid.
Figured it was time to see how the hood is going to line up. When you have parts from a dozen-teen different cars, it can be interesting. Not bad at all. Oh! and yes we will be punching a few holes in the round style on this one just to lighten it up a bit.
Your body and hood are coming along real nice, round style louvers will give it a nice hot rod look..Rod.
Today Jesse putting a nice coat of primer filler on. One more blocking and the cab should be ready for color.
Love your truck, have been following this thread from the beginning, it's coming along so well, wish I could say the same about mine, lol!
MJ are both front and rear wheels reversed chrome ? It is hard to tell in the picture as they are so shiney. I have been wanting to do WW on my coupe and what you have their is just a fine combo. Which brand did you go with on the DB's if you don't mind sharing ? That is going to look real fine on the pickup.
The rears are reversed 15x8's. I matched the offset on the rims I currently have on my 40 pickup daily with a 3" back spacing. Both are set up the same with a Maverick 8" rear ends. The fronts are 15x6's with the standard offset from Rally Wheels. The chrome is very shiny and nice. The tires are DB Fury's. fronts 205/65/15 and rears 235/70/15.
It took three of us, a front line spotter a rear line spotter (me) and a foot pedal operator, waiting for each of us to say OK. This is the second hood that I had helped with. They keep getting better each time. I admit I was a little nervous until after the first row was done. This was the first we had done with the lines being parallel to each other but angled to match the rear angle of the hood edge. I like the look on a rounded edge hoods like the 40's.
That looks so cool!! As soon as I can find time I need to work on the louver press we have at the shop to get it back up to par! Great looking truck, looking forward to seeing it finished!
Mj40s...love the build! Now i got to get myself back on to mine. Where did you order your wood kit as I'm at that stage now for mock up. Thanks!
