This thing is pretty clean and someone started to clean up the firewall on it. Humm If I was closer I might look into that. How much are they asking for it?

I'm not sure if the Dodge PU's are what you had in mind, but I love them anyway. The COE in hte parking lot was at Home Depot in Santa Clarita CA in 2009. It has Oregon plates on it. ROD HLR... I love it. I wonder if he's a HAMBer ?? :p

That literally means you are 27% through the thread so far!

Same here, this is one of my favourite threads for mindless drooling, I can't get enough of these COEs, so glad I finally own one now too! :D

The front wheel placement in this front fender is horrendous...

I think if the shot were a square profile, it wouldn't be so bad. But with the really wide but not very tall wheel opening, smaller 1 ton rolling stock, narrower 1 ton axle, compounded by the angle, no doubt makes it look awkward. I've studied these 53-56 Fords long and hard and this is the biggest design concern I have with these trucks.

I'm curious about the gl***-topped bus too -- looks like a bus version of VIA Rail's scenic viewing coach that they used through the mountains!

You're probably right, and I too have to deal with this on my 56 Mercury COE... I wonder if I would swap the wheels wells out for some 3/4 or 1 ton ones and have it look okay?

Not related to Via's train, but that thought has crossed my mind too, I think the bus is older.

    You did find my bus!

I've often thought it would have been really wild if they had built these are COEs, I or someone else should photoshop that sometime.

It's actually a slide my Grandfather took back in the late 50's. I will see if I can find & scan it.

Looks good Pex. I was wondering how your truck was coming.

Almost finished. Just a few odds and ends and have the doors re-lettered. Runs, drives and rides like a new truck. This is the first time home in it’s finished state.

Baron, that bed and those rear fenders look great. The proportions are just right.

Baron, I've been following your build and I am impressed. You got the proportions and the stance just right. What was that truck originally used for?

Thanks guys. As far as the proportions go, I wanted the truck to look as though GM made it that way. The bed sides are 8 ft long and I made them 5 " taller than a pickup bed to offset the cab height, and 4 inches wider. The fenders are 5 inches wider and 4 inches taller than the picup fenders.
I was told it was a box truck originally used to move furniture for a moving company. Once retired, someone bought the truck and made the rear box into a camper, with a spiral staircase and even had a full size porcelain bath tube! The person I bought the COE from bought only the cab and ch***is from that guy and occasionally drove the truck to local car shows in the Ithaca New York Area. Twice the truck was listed on eBay(about 3 months apart),and I was the high bidder both times, but the reserve was not met. A year later I received an email asking if I was still interested in buying it. A week later I had it home in the yard.

This could have been it's twin.
