Can you quote the post it's in or post a photo so we know what truck you mean? And I assume you mean a 58 instead of a 57...

Anyone in the Modesto, CA area have a couple of steel rims for these Fords? I was going to have mine powder coated but found one was bad, I'd take a pair as the second one has some rust inside as well.

Cool, I didn't even know Ford built crews that early. I thought it was somewhere like 64/65/66?

Ford didn't factory build them. They were built by private companies for military and industrial uses.

are the rear doors shaved? it would look so clean with all them shaved. i know they made three door crews before, but i dpnt think so in this year.

Bought this '60 about 8 years ago.....finally getting to it. Drivetrain is going to be all OT late model stuff. It will have a completely stock look to it though with steel wheels and hub caps. Just going to alter the stance. Just a few shots of how it's progressed over the last 3 or 4 weeks.

AWESOME! I can't tell from the pics, is that a Mustang II suspension? If so, what crossmember did you use?

  18. Happy, that is a good looking truck and it looks like a great start!

I'm with HASR on this one, what front end are you using?

Here's my 57 F 350. Had a flat bed on it when I bought it. I traded it to a friend for this factory Holmes bed. I bought a Holmes 400 boom from another friend. I got it this close to being done and quit on it. It has the original 292 and four speed. I may need to pull it off the back burner and finish it up. [IMG]

It's an '87 C4 Corvette IFS. Same hub to hub width as the stock '57-'60. I really wanted an all Ford, Ford......I already had it and it just begged me to put it in something classy. The truck is going to be built at static ride height (no bags) using coilovers on all 4 corners. The front is dropped 9 inches. The rear will use an Explorer disc brake 8.8 (the 9 inch is going in my nailhead powered '34) with a triangulated 4 link. Small block Ford with a 5 speed will complete the drivetrain.

I remember "many moons ago" probably late 80's or early 90's a guy with a powder blue `56 crew cab. It made many magazines. According to the owner it was a railroad truck. No idea on the coachbuilder though.

Can you post some detailed pictures of how the vette clip is mounted to the frame?

Anyone know how you pull the panels off of the bed that house the tail light? And are the panels they used on '65 4x4 the same as on our trucks besides the horizontal line that runs through them. I need one and the local Pick N Pull has one, I just have no idea how to pull it off without cutting it off.

Has anyone put a 57-58 hood on a 60? I'm trying to visualize how that front end would look with the smoother hood.

I'm currently looking to find a longbed in one of these years for a parts hauler.

the panel does not come off without cutting, and it was only used from 57-63, from 1961-63 the box did not match the cab and front end of the ford trucks that were not unibodies because Ford did not have the tooling set up for a non unibody fleetside, so it is essentially the old style box on the new trucks.

The 57-58 isn't smoother, it is covered in ribs, it will bolt directly on and look fine, but why not just get a 57-58 truck instead?

    Here is a 60 with a 57 hood.

My dad brother and I were all working on my brothers 57 Mercury M100 over the weekend, I'll have to get a shot up of it soon.
