History Traditional brain teaser

Mods, if inappropriate, please delete, thank you. Took my father in law out for a blast in the 26 yesterday, and thought I'd have some power to weight ratio hot-rod fun. A couple of back road blasts feeding the coal to her and he had enough, well kinda. Now he's 6' 2", and I'm 6' 5" minus 6, so we were a bit cramped in the close cab 26. Turning the conversation to the " ol days ", he then proceeded to tell me the tail of ol' Clem and his closed cab P/U. See ol Clem had his p/u bed stolen the night before, and on this day the worst storm of the century was heading his way. He had to get himself, his pet wolf, his prize winning sheep, and a head of lettuce home to his wife before the storm hit. It was a twenty minute trip back an forth across the valley, and ol Clem could tell he only had about an hour left before disaster hit. So, heres the problem, if he took the wolf, the sheep ate the lettuce, so that was out. If he took the lettuce, the wolf ate the sheep, so that plan was out. So HAMBers, the storms coming, times running out, and ol Clem M-U-S-T get all three of his posessions across the valley to his wife. There is only enough room in the 26 cab for Clem and one item at a time. How does he do it????

 

Where did the fox come from??

 

An hour is enough time for three trips, so: sheep, lettuce, wolf?

 

It's 20 minutes there, and 20 minutes back.... that means it would take 2 hours the way you're saying...

****, just tell us!!

 

If you bring the sheep and then go back for the lettuce and leave that, the lettuce gets eaten by the sheep when you go back for the wolf, times running out???????????

 

Dammit I knew it couldn't be that easy

This pickup have a bed or what?!

I'd be more interested in finding the missing P/U bed.

But If I'd have to do it, I would google "sheep, lettuce, wolf"

So I would find this...

This reminds me of the one about the three bulbs in the attic (full of speed equipment of course)...

You have three switches in the hall that work three different light bulbs upstairs in the attic. You need to figure out which switch is paired to each bulb. You have all the time in world but may only go up the stairs to the attic once then returning with your answer.
