I saw a bracket racer in a old altered like this do the same thing in the late 80's but 2 rods and a piston shot out the oil pan when the rear wheels left the earth!

This was Don Wait's car. At the time it was powered by a 427 Ford Wedge.

The comp style dragtser at the top frame was , I believe, a neighbor of Bill Pitts, owner of the Magi-Car. It was a modified fuel roadster. Bill has posted shots of it being run at Famosa in 1966 on Youtube.

It was a thread on the HAMB.If you do a thread search for "What REALLY happened to Drag Racing in 1964" it should come up.It is one of the best threads I have ever read on the HAMB.

And it was one of the Coolest RED's ever built.... That body section over the clutch area was so trick! John always liked that car. We talked about it a bunch during our times together...

Ultra Bitchin... I always wondered what happened to this car? I would bet money it's in a garage somewhere in Nor-Cal. Just sitting. Kinda like the time we went and checked out John Cassie's Night Train Dragster. Just sitting in Sacramento on Jack Stands in 100% Original Condition.

    It will turn up someday...

Is that an antenna sticking out next to the right wheel? Such a clean, well detailed car that featured characteristics ahead of its time. All thats missing is a properly sized and positioned wing.

I'm sorry Rick, I missed your question here.
This is stuff from when we were kids racing at unsanctioned tracks in the SE back in late 60's and early 70's.
There is an old cast steering butterfly from a CR chassied car we had a high riser Ford in that ultimately shelled the transmission at half track.
The fuel pressure pump is from an old altered with a small block.
The large flip top fuel cap came from an old Kellison we salvaged the body from and put on the altered chassis after we took the original metal T' body off.
There are some old crusty shifter T' handles also.

........right or left Rick ?? I saw the guy I sold that body and the tin 23 T' altered to back in 74' at this years Good Guys event at Titan Stadium in Nashville, Tn. Had not seen him or his brother in many years and I almost did not recognize him, but I asked him about that stuff and it might be obtainable.......... if it hasn't deteriorated to the point of no return.
It was considered rough back in 70'.
I'm easy to reach. Tom S.
