Bomonster just posted on one of my threads and it got me thinking again about doing artist profiles in the Gazette.

My short list (if I left you out, don't cry, just post):

    -Norwell
    -Allison
    -Bomonster
    -Zombie
    -Bernie Ramirez (Lowcab)
    -Etc.

Lets hear your ideas and more importantly...LET'S SEE SOME ART!!!!

  2. Great idea, Kirk!

You can take your pick of any of the finest hot rod artists in the world (myself excluded) from the Friday Art Show, right here on our very own HAMB! Your short list would be mine as well!

Lowcab would be an automatic "in" as well!

Yep. I have three of his pieces up in my house. In fact, I have talked to him about this in the past.

I think it's a good idea for sure. Don't forget Coby from Church, Janne, Eric Black, Tuck etc. So many talented artists you could definitely do a ton of feature worth artist profiles in the Gazette.

  10. Art is good. Profiles would be awesome.
One guy who is too dang busy drawing for big tv show and has not had much exposure. Has his own distinct style and deserves some exposure - "Jigger" Mark Ervin
Another guy's work I have been digging a lot of lately is Todd Jones.
Greg Guise too. His etchings are off the charts.
    What about photographers?

You ,know I had an idea that with the incredible talent on this site we could put together an amazing portfolio of images, one from each participant, and sell them and split the proceeds with Ryan (the HAMB).......we could just cover our costs and he could get the rest....."The HAMB-Folio".....just a thought. OK I'll start with this iconic image of Morty's "Jive Five" .... It's hangin in the Hop Up Hall of Fame.....;)

Ahahahaha!!!! How the fuck did Weesner slip my mind? He's my number 1 and I wished I possessed a fraction of his talent.

And while we're talking about Weesner let's not forget Sandy Wachs!!! Sandy is a hell of a designer and a all around rad dude!

Kirk! What an awesome idea! I would love to be included in an artist feature. ALL of the guys mentioned so far are amazingly talented artists and designers, many of them are great friends and all of 'em deserve some ink!

Ed Tillrock and Chad Lampert are also amazing!

Blacktopbuddha- thanks for the mention, man!

All of the above so far have my votes for sure.....they are all bad ass artists and inspire me to do what I do.

  18. Kirk,
I think that artist profiles are cool. I love reading them and seeing their work.

I am not at all trying to tell you how or what to do but I really like seeing something about someone unknown on occaision, Raven on here would be a good example. he has had showings locally and his photography is top notch perhaps a little on the edge he has an exceptional eye for old iron and the detalils that make an otherwise humdrum car a piece of art.

Personally, each and every magazine out there is loaded with fine pictures, I can see them on every page.
My preference is therefor actual artists and not photographers. No offense intended.

I just don't see enough actual/real hotrod art amongst the pages of any magazine.
And with the addition of a short bio, a page or 2 of fine hotrod art speaks to me.

    .

    Perfection and historically accurate:

Please consider me as well. I don't know if anyone really knows about my "other" talent since I don't post much on the Friday Art Show, but I do a lot of T-shirt design for clubs and business around the region...and I do it the old fashioned way...pen and ink and overlays...here's some "ruffs" of the art I do first...these ruffs are then finished for silk screening...
