I've been wanting to start a build thread for a while, so here it is. My car is a 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe. I've had it for a few years and I'm just now starting to get really hot on it.

The first attached image is of the original frame which has since been replaced.

The others are of the floor I made to be removable just like the original. it had to be higher to clear the 350 trans though.

These are the motor mounts that I made for it, and this is what the rear panel was like before i replaced it.

These pictures are of the panel during/after i did it. all i have left to do is fix the door hinges and then the body comes off this week! then I can get the chassis in paint and plumbed etc.

Looks good Jake. Will it be ready for the Vista Cruizer's Christmas party?

Thats the plan! The body should be coming off tomorrow after work, then I can start to tear down the frame and start painting.

Very cool, I'm in the middle of a 40 coupe project also. It's good to see progress being made on one. Keep the updates coming. Gary

Looking good. I am curious where you got the motor mount biscuits. They appear to have a bottom cup as well as a metal banc around the rubber part. This is like an old original set I have but have not been able to find new ones. Speedway has flat bottom disk and no band support.

    Thanks,

    Fourdy

The body is off! I got my pipes all welded up solid and ready for paint. I'm really happy with how the 4 pipes turned out.

Time for paint too. I used restoration shop Saturn Firemist Gold. The paint shot amazingly well and only costs 100ish a gallon.

Pictures look great but the color looks better in person. I was by their shop this weekend and got a firsthand look. Good job Jake. Keep at it kid.

    Coming along nicely.
Once again, the body off shots remind me of when I did my 40.

I gotta say, if you told me before, "hey look at my gold colored '40 coupe", I think I would have gagged. As the owner of a '40 Sedan Delivery, that color on that coupe is really trick. I especially like the gold with the white on the dash. Is there going to be some sort of accent color stripe between the gold and white?
