Great pixs, thanks for posting them! So...is George Barris now competing in pin-up contests? Did he win? He should have worn pumps at least, don't you think?

If you missed Salina and you like Kustoms you missed a bunch of Kick ass Kustoms ,the coolest people and some hot drag races. We met so many new people that think like we do. A bunch of HAMB members face to face also. I got to say we a bunch of ugly old dudes,LOL ,just kidding. Too bad we didn't have name tags to identify avatar with faces,Oh well, next year.Yea it was kind of hot but we survived LOL. George Barris chose my Airflow for his pick and gave me a really cool large Barris crest award .I am thrilled. The show was awesome. We missed the Colorado Springs bunch this year,Where were ya Dave?

Patrick amigo, sorry I didn't get to shake your hand. Glad you were there and thanx for the great pix. The Hudson sedan is a knock-out, with all the sweet stuff there The Hudson and Kaiser Manhattan were two of my faves at this event. Take care pal. ~sololobo~

A ring of fire - song done by the Johnny Cash impersonator at the show is still ringing in my head. Gene Winfield sure can dance,he had the pretty ladies trying to keep up with him. Tons of cool live bands ,great music ,drag racing was wild and cruzin on Santa Fae with hundreds of people lined the street. Man what a awesome 4 days. Dennis Gage did a interview with me of my old Airflow for the My Classic car TV show. I am still stoked.

  15. I talked to both of them at the show. Didn't get my ride, though:(, but that's OK. Got to drool over both cars. The grille on Roger's car is a work of art! To see all that up close was a lot of fun for me!

  16. Saw your car a couple of times, but missed ya! I'm definitely bringing something up there next year, whether it's the '66 Coronet or the '47 Hudson. Spectating was fun, but I need to bring a car next time.

  17. Looks like fun! Thanks for posting. Jeff, your '56 is looking nice & shiney!

Thanx for the compliments Patrick...too bad we didn't get to spend more time chatting...too many people to talk to and I turned around and you were gone...and you never did get that ride in the Caddy I promised...nex time.

I got up Saturday morn, went outside the motel and got hit by a blast furnace. I went back in to get a cup of coffee and casually remarked that it was "going to warm up nicely today." The whole bunch of people in the place threw their breakfast plates, apples, banana peels and cereal at me...guess they couldn't take a joke...

The event itself was great and the Friday nite drags is getting out of hand...too many cars in town simply for that...only got to make one pass before I had to shut the Caddy off...got too hot waiting in the long line.

The drive there and home was uneventful and the 500" Cadillac V8 didn't miss a lick...and got about 16 mpg...so I'm happy with that for right now.

It was good to see all my friends again...

    R-

I was thinking they need to do something a little different there also.
Maybe rethink what they allow to run or how many times or something. We waited in line for 45 minutes to get to run once.

Although this year once was enough:( Left the detroit locker on the starting line.

It seems that the bet was "the jinx" for both BCR and PF. PF was a no-show and BCR made it half way down the track. PF was ready to buy, but then it was Mike that was a no-show.

Good to meet you Mike. You sure do have that hotrocket looking good.

My highlight of the show was meeting Dennis Gage. It was a surreal moment for me. :)

Good to meet you too. Yep Paul jinxed me  and a 60 degree hotel room kept me from cashing in on the bet.
