Folks Of Interest HEY ARTISTS: I'm Thinking About Doing ARTIST Features....Stand Up!!!!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by KIRK!, Aug 1, 2011.

  1. another great artist that gets little recognition - general gow

Photographers - I'll second the raven
and raise the pot with April May, and Dan Greenberg, and Travis from Kansas, and fur biscuit

to me, there's magazine photos and then there are those who go beyond that and put their soul into the work

how about a youngster - Deadbird's son - Navigator23 - Jesse got some striping skills

    Great Idea Kirk!
I'm an one of those "keep to myself throw & it away if it's not perfect" artists so I don't put out too much stuff. I was a graphic artist for a TV station for thirteen years until I was let go a year and a half ago, I'm still looking for work. since then I'm trying to change directions and I want to build customs.
I've posted on the Photochop thread a few times and because of that I've had a ton of fellow HAMBers PM me with requests for moc-up sketches. Not too much is more gratifying than doing those, and I am always flattered by the kind words about my art. So here is one of my personal favorites a Lincoln picture I did for the photoshop thread and a couple of logos I just did for Rustryder here on the HAMB
(because he is one cool cat and has helped me a ton!! Thanks Ron!!!) speaking of the Photoshop thread don't forget James D He has helped a bunch of builders see their vision come to life!

  21. 120+ pieces in this album- all HAMB specific..

    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/album.php?albumid=3754

These pieces are mostly either acrylic paint or traditional plien- air watercolour, or pencil/ digital brush. I've been into hot rodding since I was little. Lovin' the HAMB since 2007- it's revived my hot- rod drawing/ painting.
Aspiring to be, though not currently, a professional practising artist.

  25. I keep thinking of more artists all the time.

How could you go wrong with this idea?

I have to put into nomination a little known artist from the left coast,Tom Hunnicutt. I have one of his Lions Drag Strip T's and it is a striking frontal shot (white line on black T) of a bitching Hanna bodied FED under the lights ready to launch. Tom is a racer and was there back in the day.Health issues of late and trying to take care of an elderly relative have kept him away from his passion ,his art. He can usually found hanging around "The Winged Express" as Tom's ex partner Jimmie Boyd (red turkey aafd) son Mike Boyd handles the driving chores.
