Hey there, About 6 months ago i purchaced a 1955 pontiac off here. Its bagged, nosed decked, shaved ect. The car is running a 250 6cyl, 350 auto and a 89 camaro rear end. Since the car has arived in Australia me and my father have been working on it when ever we find the time. We have given the engine and the engine bay a freshen up, Put twin carbies and split headers, new watter pump, radiator, exhaust system, break booster, side plate, full gaskit set ect ect. We then got the whole car re-wired front to back and had the airbags looked over. We then planned on stripping the interior to mount seat belts and possibly 'blow over ' the dash. One thing lead to another and we are now baremetaling the whole car. My cousin who is a spray painter/pannel beater has been a massive help. We are tossingup between painting it red/black again but with a more kandy red/satin black or going gold/off white.
Here are some pictures of how the car was when i got it, a before and a after picture of the motor, and some pictures of the car as it is at the moment
I think that belonged to a HAMBer, I always thought that car was a real beautiful car, nice purchase! Cant wait to see it done!
A bit of an update. Plans were totaly changed on the car, a little tidy up lead into a full rebuild. The car got bare metaled, New airbag setup, did the engine bay again, whole new break setup, new paint, currently getting new interior, new glass, new/restored/pollished chrome/stainless ect ect. Here are some photo's
DANG! Looks very nice. I thought it was ok before, but now its even better. Good for you for just jumping on it and not posting, unless I missed it, a 'What do you think I should do with it?' thread. Just do SOMETHING! Sorry, that stuff bothers me. Again, looks very good.
Awesome ri5ky, looks fantastic. I like the air filter covers you put on it. Look forward to seeing the next update
bloody good job,i have such major weak spot for 55 pontiacs since i own 4,i got my first one when i was 15,& like it has been said above---more pictures..please
I was just thinking about this the other day, wondering how the progress was coming along. Excellent choice in colors, glad to see my old car in such great hands!
Beautifully done, the gold looks great. It's so easy to let fixing one little thing turn into a full on restoration, but you've done a great job of it, worth every minute.
Nice looking job RIS5Y, contact the Pontiac club in Melbourne and and put it in for the Nat's to be held in Shepparton Easter 2103 , you just might go home with a trophy. I'll be heading down with my 41. RodL
Looks great! Bet it knocks your eyes out when you get right up on it in the sunlight........... Nice job!
Man i'm not sure if i could of tore into it with the way it looked before, but i gotta say it looks alot better now.
