Glad to see all these inspirational garages/workshops. I am almost done with my early birthday gift to myself which is a 40' x 37' garage. Now I have to do some manly decorating to my shop.
Billsat, I hear ya .... I lost half of my garage to the horses. I've only got the left side now .....
Does this count, it's a garage but it is a business. I can only wish it was in my yard and those were all my cars!
5 car total w/ a new 2 car for the roadster The 2 car has been done about 4 weeks now- still moving my crap in.
Great thread and well put, this is not a contest, it is fun and inspiring seeing all of the cool cars and projects. After a rough day, it is so relaxing to wrench on a project or jump in the roadster and blow off some steam. Fortunately I have a super cool and supportive wife.
My cool garage Built in 1949 and I just spent the last year remodeling it as my home shop. It is still not totally finished. Before Here is a build thread on our sister site GarageJournal.com http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=59241
The Hog Mountain Garage. It's actually Hog Mtn Terry's garage across the street from me. We work there and store stuff at my garage.
Some pretty kick ass garages in here. This thread is motivating me to want a garage more than I already do. We are looking at houses right now and that is my only request. My wife found a house that she likes that has an oversized carport that can be closed off to make a garage and a huge backyard(for Seattle). She said we could close the carport off and also BUILD a BIGGER garage in the back. Teamplayer. The price for the house makes it worth looking at sans garage.
Here's a few of the attached garage at home,I do most of my major building at my business shop but I do some of the final easy assembly here and of course some drinking. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
I also feel very fortunate to have a Picasso... a Dan Picasso... hanging in my garage. (First pic courtesy Big Al Bartell)
I just got 10 acres, and the neighbor had his horses on my place. I stored some stuff in the barn (two open bays) and had a tarp covering a 350 and my flathead, in the back of my truck. The horses got in there and tore the damn tarp all to hell trying to get under it to see what was in the back of the truck. They were worse than little kids! Made a damn mess being nosy. You guys are all giving me some good ideas for building my new shop, after the house is built for the family, of course..
Here is a picture of half of my garage, this is the clean side where the wife parks and my woodie project sites. It is all Woodie or surf themed. the other side (in the dark) is another 2 car garage where I do my building and making a mess (it seems if it can spill, I will do it..).
My Den of Iniquity.... ...whether to gain sanity and solitude after a hectic day... no phone or man door to the house.
Wow Jeff! Quite a collection you have going there. Sure has changed since I was there shortly after you moved in. Looks great!
Norwell... awesome place u got there. Looks like a great place to hang and work. Best of both worlds.
