So I've done some searches, but I haven't been able to come up with what I'm looking for. Maybe I'm just using the wrong search terms... if so, feel free to correct me or point me in the right direction!

Anyways, I'm looking for build threads of guys or gals putting Olds engines in their hot rods.

I've seen the finished results on a lot of hot rods, and they look pretty damn good. But I was hoping to see some pictures/read the process of the build up. Just to get some ideas and inspiration.

My truck is a '34 Ford, and I have a '54 Olds 324, so I'd like to see build threads/pictures of early Olds engines going into early Fords, but all build threads are welcome!

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks Richard, I did a bunch of searches, but couldn't find any build threads. Didn't think about searching member names though.

I've been in contact with Skunkvictim to talk a bit about Olds and his rod and such. Trying to meet up with him so I can see it in person. But thanks. I'll have to see if he can send me some pics.

I've been hooked on Oldsmobiles for longer than I want to admit.

Next best thing to putting an Olds into something, is to swap Olds within and Olds. (Which has always been for a bigger Olds mill)

I've done several over the years including my current ride. The 324 was gone when I got my 55, so I just rounded up another Olds drivetrain to refill it.

Many events do a Ford in a Ford class because it's kinda rare.

I'll always be happy with my Olds in an Olds swaps......

I'm hoping he might come down to the Hartman Bash in two weeks time, but otherwise, I'll have to see if I can buy him a beer towards the end of the month. I've seen the pics, but I want a closer look.

This thing is bad****! Haven't read the whole thread yet, but I'm going to have to from the pictures.

I've actually been in touch with Tony over the phone and through PM. Just trying to get a handle on the project before I really start hounding him with questions. And yeah, I've been following that build. That engine is pure****.

Thanks Paul. I'll check those out now. I've read a ton of your posts and learned a lot from you and the other guys like Don_Wow, Yorgatron and Blownolds. Thanks for linking me these builds though.

I agree! There have been lots of 'show me your rocket' threads, and that sort of stuff, but it seems to be a few guys with their own Rocket powered rides, and then a lot of pictures of Olds powered cars. Maybe we'll just have to start a fresh Olds powered roll call...

I think I'm going to be plenty happy with my Olds powered Ford... now I just need to get the damn truck put back together.

Enlarged the pic to full size to see some cool stuff. I like the way he picked up 2 more upper bolt holes for the front motor plate...I knew something looked different :)

I'd like to see how the motor plate arms attach to the Ford rubber mounts.

..and look at the blended center exhaust tube right at the top flange, pretty cool.

Looks like there might be room for the starter, too.

  16. I'm just putting a 75 Olds 455 into my second 55 Caddy. Too bad it wasn't a vintage motor, but just different enough. Came out of my dads second to last car he owned so it has sentimental value

324 Olds engine...two oldies in one fine ride !

I'd love to see some more pics of how you set up your frame! Those motor mounts look great, and that x frame... is it still considered an x frame the way you have it end at the trans like that? Regardless, it looks beautiful!

    agreed!

    Glad to hear it.

There's one around here that was converted to 303 power many years ago. Actually, it was a pretty common thing to do when the V12 gave up, thanks to George Hurst's conversion mounts.
