Looks great, I like the 1st version with the cage sticking out a bit from the body and leaving some ample side vision...but still looks bitch'n, thats an awefulllot of mold work I hope he intends to reop some bodies to recoupe some cash + time.

The seat position is really low to start with so my eye's would be inside the body regaurdless, and I always wanted a enclosed cage car anyway. Don't get me wrong, I dig most all chute pack cars. It's like a sickness with me. Todd.

 

Well, here are some shots with the motor plate cut and the cowl fit. Also revamped how the nose will look. Getting really stoked about getting this home so I can get to work on the rear end and brakes, then at least I'll have a roller.

Todd, Great car. I'm finishing up the Surfers F/E car and when its done. I'm looking at building this one if you can handle the constant phone calls again..

Is this the real reason for the 5pt cages?

 

The major problem with most 3 point cages is that the driver is not totally inside the cage and could get his face scraped off in an "incident". The extra tubing also adds a bit of beef if the car lands hard upside down. Brian does a great job of making his "legal" cages look as retro as possible.

Dragster is coming along good.Love that steering wheel.

 

The body is comming along. Harry "hand made" here on the HAMB is doing a great job. The panels are trimmed and fit, bulk heads added to firm and hold everything for body work. Still need to make the top front/nose section, and the cage cover. I'm like Ralphie waiting for a "Red Ryder".

 

Thank for the complements on the wheel. I've made a matching brake handle too.

Upside down? Sheesh!If the cage is low enough it will still be on four wheels even upside down. LOL. Ok, Ok, I'll stop.

i kind of figured that.

Maybe nhra etc. could have a "grandfather" type rule where if the chassis is tagged before say 1972 or something it can continue in it's original form. (not likely) The driver/owner would also have to sign a waiver or something.

i don't like 5pt cages on FEDs. Although king does a great job with it.

 

Those are 19" boranni wheels with Creitz hubs. I also have a set of 18" akronts and another set of hubs. I haven't decided what set I'll use yet. Both set are polished aluminum. Todd.

Hi To all who have been following the body build. This is Hot Rod Harry (hand made). I just thought I might add some info for Todd about what I am doing. I originally did all this a year ago for a customer of mine for his Logghe chassis car he bought. Todd contacted me to see if it would fit his chassis. Of course it didn't. (the Logghe chassis was really narrow in the cockpit.) So I allowed myself to be talked into making the necessary modifications to fit a "more traditional" chassis. I widened, stretched and reworked everything to fit the King Chassis. I decided to make all new molds so I could make these bodies for sale for others wanting the same thing. I am pushing to finish up in the next 2-3 weeks at the rate I'm going. Due to my background in street rod manufacturing (I owned Willys Unlimited) I feel that I have first class quality bodies to offer. I invite anyone wanting more info to drop me a note. I hope to have my new website operational in a week, you can go there and get more info. Harry, You shure did make a nice dress for Todds new chassis. I like it alot. Taste and quality will go along way. Cant wait to see the finished product.

Ha,ha. He said to say that. I just have access to a computer more than he does so here they are. This is the mold.

The opening in the nose looks tall but it isnt. It is only 8" tall. Next is a lizzard nose to be hooked to the hole in the front of the nose. This is going to be a nice car.

Brian thanks for posting the latest pics. Harry definitely has alot of time into making this a bitchin body. Hopefully he has enough interest in it that he is able to sell some more. The man is definitely a top notch operation. Alot like your chassis. Todd.
