Well, NO, it's not retarded...two completely different events...I'm probably gonna take some flack for this, but, a "real" car guy would have much more fun, and appreciate all the things that make the Relix Riot what it is, and what the Dream Cruise, isn't!

  3. Where is this happening? Post a link or some details.

Hey Tom...here's a thread already going about it :

    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=604941&highlight=relix+riot

It's held at the Gilmore Museum in Hickory Corners, Mi. Here's a link to their site :

    www.GilmoreCarMuseum.org

The museum grounds and cars are spectacular, and the Relix are a great buncha car guy's...the show is for pre-'65 traditional style cars and motorcycles...there always seems to be a cackle car or three there each year too...plus a swap meet, and FOOD!! WELL worth the drive!

  5. Thanks man! I remember which show that is now. I wanted to go last year and couldn't make it. I think I'm gonna try this year though.

  6. If you are on this board than no the Relix Riot isn't retarted.

If you drive a 92 notch back mustang, 69 camaro , 82 Firebird, a minivan, suv, or enjoy going nowhere in a major traffic jam, only to pull over and get charged big buck to park your car than Woodward might be your event.

I will be at the Riot Firday evening with a crew from Detroit, Cant wait to pass all the cars going to Woodward on the on westbound 94

No, what,s retarded is going to the Woodward cruise, sitting in gridlock with a bunch wanna-be's in mini-vans and late model Monte-Carlos. The smart, hip people will be at the Gilmore hanging at the Relix Riot.

  8. So now I'm smart AND hip!!!! Cool...

We don't have anyone to take care of our aniamls, which means Erin & I both can't be gone away from home for very long together, so, we're not going to be there for the Friday night festivities...we're driving out early Saturday morning...remember, I have dibs on EVERYTHING in the swap meet!!

  14. You should probably just stay home. I am sure there's nothing there you realy need anyway:D

Econo lodge has rooms for 54 and up, not far from the show.
    It's about 20-25 min away.

  16. I prolly won't make it this year anyhow... I have a few things to do to my car to make it show-worthy. So I will not be hip this year :(

    Maybe next year for sure.

If I get my shit together then I may make the basement at Autorama. That's kinda hip

I plan on attending. Last year they said camping was cool with the people at Gilmore so we might camp on Friday night. I hope to have both cars there if I can bribe the wife into driving one! Anyone know how strict the Traditional police are? My wheels are not era correct, but the Fenton centercaps I fitted to them are! LOL

  18. Mark, you smart-ass!

I look like Butthead (with my friend Bevis) in that pic and my new garage is only 3.5 bays. :D

The wife is saying no hot rods at the new house, so they gotta stay at the shop.

Hope to see you there, Mark, along with all the other cool kids.

Ummm, if your avitar is running the wheels in question, you might wanna put some steelies on it! Check the Relix post about the show, it's pretty specific, and guys with new aluminum wheels have been told (politely!) that they can come in but can't show the car. I'm just say'n...

Thanks for all the support. Glad to see guys would rather be in the company of a couple hundred like minded hot rodders than 50 thousand mothers powerball spinning sidewalk spectators on woodward.

  22. What's up with the camping? I think I got permission from the wife for a night away. Is there camping Friday night, Saturday night, or both. If both, what night will have the most "festivities"? ;)

  23. Me and Cindy will be cruising out in the Roadster really wanted to have the new pickup drivable but it just didn't happen. And as far as missing the Woodard exhaust fest, Haha yeah right really.

Camping is FREE for the night before the show, and a mere $15 bucks a night for all the nights you want to stay. Kim and I love camping there, it's beautiful and quiet (when there aren't a bunch of degenerate bikers and hot-rodders there:D). We'll be there on Thursday afternoon, so come on out!

    Brian

Oh, it's "rustic" camping, no showers, limited elec., so beware...

Huh. Whatcha got against getting immobilized in a 7 mile long parking lot & watching your rad percolate until it's empty?

FcK that mess of posers & minivans, we're gonna have a blast rattling around the Gilmore.
